With an array of specialty treatments, the Spa at the Park is truly the best day spa the East Bay has to offer. We are seeking a Bakers/Pastry Cooks to join our outstanding Culinary team. Our Bakers/Pastry Cooks create the sweet and savory treats that our guests and associates enjoy, according to the Hotel's high standards of quality and presentation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Stocks production areas for efficient daily operation., • Sets up, restocks and maintains Pastry preparation areas, while adhering to recipes including correct cooking procedures., • Requisitions supplies and equipment., • Prepares pastries and desserts to recipe specifications., • Follow all safety, hygiene and cleanliness protocols at all times., • Provides recipes and suggest methods and procedures for preparation., • Displays knowledge and follows all procedures in sanitation and sanitary food handling., • Shapes dough for cookies, pies and fancy pastries., • Prepares and cooks ingredients for pie fillings, puddings, custards and other desserts., • Plates desserts for Banquets and Restaurant according to presentation specifications., • Mixes ingredients to make icings., • Decorates cakes and pastries., • Keeps work area clean and organized using soap and sanitizing agents., • Maintains proper food temperature, out of the danger zone of 40 to 150 degrees. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel. Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the Hotel facilities. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma is preferred. Formal culinary training or degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Restaurant Management preferred. One-year prior culinary experience is preferred. CERTIFICATES. REGISTRATIONS, LICENSES ServSafe certification is preferred. GROOMING All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available.) PAY SCALE The pay scale for this position is between $26.00 and $29.00 per hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual wage rates will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, and education.
