Return rosters to office administration weekly, signed and dated., • Follow YMCA protocols for dealing with First-Aid and emergency situations. Complete necessary paperwork such as incident reports, medical log, etc., • Use positive group management techniques. Anticipate and deal with behavior problems in accordance with YMCA’s Discipline and Expulsion Policy., • Assist with assigning responsibilities each day including leading activities, helping with snack, homework support, restroom supervision, and clean up as required., • Ensure all staff function as positive role models and set a positive example through their behavior., • Promote Y Programs and Camps to families. Assist with planning and implementation of special events, including Annual Campaign., • Maintain a clean and sanitary program environment by ensuring supplies, equipment and tables are cleaned before and after snack or activities. Ensure children wash their hands before snack. Report any maintenance issues to the school custodians and the Assistant Director/Program Director., • Ensure the health and comfort of all children is maintained by providing attentive and hygienic care for children if they soil themselves, including diapers, including regular diaper changes as needed, ensuring cleanliness, following proper diaper-changing techniques to maintain the child’s health and comfort. Follow YMCA protocols for changing soiled diapers, underwear or disposable training pants., • Adhere to sanitation and health guidelines as required by the licensing or authorizing agency(ies) and MetroY policies and procedures., • Assist with leading monthly fire safety drill and log results to meet Licensing requirements., • Complete 20 hours of professional development annually. Attend all YMCA training and meetings as required., • Assist with planning and implementation of special events., • Maintain certifications as required. Must complete CARI Background Check, CHRI/Fingerprinting, understanding licensing training and provide proof of a Mantoux test within two weeks of hire., • High School Diploma required, college credits/degree preferred., • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communication with all levels including staff, parents and school staff., • Ability to problem solve and make decisions that adhere to the purpose, mission and goals of the YMCA., • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and planning skills., • 1 year Supervisory experience., • 1 -3 years working with children in a group setting in Before/Afterschool programs, • CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required., • Must complete CARI Background Check, CHRI/Fingerprinting and provide proof of a Mantoux test within two weeks of hire. Job Description Middle Collegiate Church Nursery Care Provider Purpose: The Nursery Care Provider is a Contractor who staffs the Middle Church “Wee Care” program during Sunday worship celebrations and other programming as needed. Under the direct supervision of the Minister for Care and Congregational Life, the Nursery Care Provider is a part of our youth education team and is responsible for the care and safety of infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. The Nursery Care Provider works in tandem with Middle Church staff, parents and guardians to support programs that bridge the vision of Middle Church to its youngest members. Skills required: The Nursery Care Provider must have a minimum of three years' experience working with infants and children up to the age of five. They must love and respect children. Three references must be provided and passing a background check is essential. Fluency in English is a must and having some ability in Spanish and/or Mandarin is a plus. The Nursery Care Provider must be an excellent communicator, and have proven experience working in a multicultural, multiethnic community that is fully welcoming to all genders and sexualities. They must have imagination, patience and an even temperament to assist and care for children.
