HSE (Health & Safety) Intern - ARB, Inc. Position Summary The HSE Intern gains hands-on experience supporting Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs while working alongside project teams and safety professionals in industrial and or solar construction environments. This internship provides exposure to field safety operations, regulatory compliance, safety documentation, and safety culture initiatives under the guidance of experienced safety staff. Internship Learning Objectives • Fundamentals of construction safety and safety management systems, • Safety culture and behavioral safety practices, • Job site safety orientation and onboarding processes, • Hazard identification and risk mitigation, • Field safety observations and inspections, • Incident and near-miss reporting fundamentals, • Safety documentation and recordkeeping, • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and use, • Regulatory awareness (OSHA and applicable standards), • Assist with field safety inspections and observations under supervision, • Support hazard identification and corrective action tracking, • Assist with safety documentation, reports, and data entry, • Participate in incident and near-miss investigations as assigned, • Support safety orientations and training activities, • Promote compliance with company and site-specific safety requirements, • Reinforce positive safety culture through professional conduct, • Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, • Demonstrated interest in health and safety or construction environments, • Ability to work in active field job site conditions, • Strong communication, professionalism, and work ethic, • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) This position is primarily field-based at active industrial construction or solar sites. The intern must be able to walk, stand, and observe work activities for extended periods, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and wear required personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe footwear. Depending on the work location the intern may need to travel to worksite. Compensation Hourly internship pay commensurate with education and experience, consistent with company internship guidelines ranging from $26 to $28 per hour.
