As Managing Clerk, you will serve as the firm’s procedural expert, partnering closely with attorneys to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while leading staff, managing daily operations, and implementing process improvements to reduce risk. Responsibilities for Managing Clerk – Litigation Operations Lead: • Serve as the firm’s primary resource for attorneys and staff on federal, state, and local court rules, judges’ practices, and procedural requirements, • Review and analyze filings prior to submission to ensure compliance, accuracy, and adherence to jurisdiction-specific rules, • Interpret court orders, calculate critical deadlines, and maintain precise calendaring in Court Alert and Outlook systems, • Oversee all docketing and calendaring functions, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and adherence to firmwide standards, • Manage complex, high-risk, and time-sensitive filings across federal and state courts, primarily in New York and New Jersey, • Supervise, train, and mentor docketing staff, including assigning workloads and conducting quality control on work product, • Monitor case dockets and proactively identify procedural risks or issues, implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors Qualifications for Managing Clerk – Litigation Operations Lead: • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate or equivalent experience strongly preferred, • Minimum of 8+ years of litigation docketing, calendaring, or court operations experience across multiple jurisdictions, • Prior experience as a Managing Clerk or Assistant Managing Clerk within a law firm environment required, • Strong working knowledge of New York and federal court rules and e-filing systems, including CM/ECF, PACER, and NYSCEF, • Proven experience supervising staff and managing daily filing and calendaring operations in a deadline-driven environment, • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively, • Strong communication skills and sound judgment in identifying procedural risks and coordinating solutions with legal teams
