Job Description Soaren Management provides customer-centric alternative lending solutions in consumer markets via proprietary underwriting and loan management systems. The Controller position is responsible for the accounting operations of the organization, including the production of financial reports for both corporate and client entities, accounting record maintenance, and all related processes and accounting systems. This position will require focus on continuous improvement for speed and accuracy, including automating functions, effective presentation and communication of results to executive management and clients, and compliance with GAAP and any other relevant accounting standards. • Supervise employees performing financial reporting, general ledger accounting, billing, collections, and payables duties., • Prepare or direct the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements, business activity reports, client financial presentations, or reports required by regulatory agencies., • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources., • Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed., • Provide analysis for understanding financial performance, root causes, and trends, • Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals., • Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures., • Work closely with the FP&A and Treasury team to develop forecasts and implement banking changes, • Conduct and coordinate third-party audits of company accounts and if needed, client entities., • Manage projects as needed, recommend process improvements, and inform management of new GAAP pronouncements REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, • CPA designation (or currently testing to become certified), • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Controller role, • Extensive experience in NetSuite (or similar large-scale ERP system), • Substantial knowledge and experience in general ledger accounting, • Personality characteristics, including attention to detail, intelligence, curiosity, professional skepticism, reliability, and customer relations skills, • Excellent Microsoft Excel and accounting ledger system skills required, • Ability to communicate with and make presentations to executive management The ideal candidate will possess the following; • Experience in the financial services industry, • Public accounting experience, • Ability to run/manage Power BI reports We offer excellent compensation and benefits: • Highly competitive salary, • Hybrid-work capabilities, • Performance-based rewards, • Unlimited vacation time, • Dog-friendly office, • Casual work environment, • A small executive team with promotion opportunities, • Company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance/AD&D, • Free gym membership, • 401K with generous company matching, • Paid parental leave, • Tuition reimbursement, • Excellent work-life balance, • Beautiful office with huge breakrooms, snacks, and activities OUR COMPANY MISSION Soaren Management merges time-tested business practices with bleeding-edge proprietary technologies to deliver reliable, efficient, and secure financial products and services.
