Job Description The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a healthcare organization in the Indianapolis area to add a Medical Charge Entry Specialist to their team. This will be a fully onsite position. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Responsibilities for the position include the following: • Accurate Charge Entry: Precisely input physician charges into the billing system., • Coding Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all procedural and diagnostic codes (CPT, ICD-10, etc.), correctly identify appropriate codes, and educate staff on proper coding practices when errors occur., • Coding Issue Resolution: Collaborate with staff to resolve coding discrepancies and associated billing problems., • Daily Charge Balancing: Reconcile and balance charges on a daily basis to ensure accuracy., • Payment Posting: Accurately post payments collected by the office or department., • Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality of all patient and financial information., • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, specifically in a Charge Entry role., • At least 1 year of experience managing clinical and technical claims denials within a medical billing environment., • Strong grasp of medical terminology is essential., • Proficient in patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations., • Required knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding., • Understands insurance regulations relevant to charge entry functions., • Familiar with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) or other healthcare-related computer systems., • Highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
