Job DescriptionSalary: $40 to $50 Domenicos family of brands is seeking anHR & Accounting Managerto serve as the cultural heartbeat of our organizationand the owner of payroll.. This role is built for a hospitality leader who thrives at the intersection ofpeople operations, payroll, and light accounting oversight. While8090% of accounting is outsourcedto an industry-specific hospitality accounting firm supported by MarginEdge with a combination of QuickBooks desktop and BambooHR, this position requires strong payroll expertise and sufficient accounting fluency to collaborate effectively and manage internal follow-through. The primary focus is on people operationsas you are driving engagement, performance, compliance, training, recruiting, and culturewith full accountability for end-to-end payroll processing.Acting as theTEAM COACH,youll ensure staff are supported, motivated, and aligned with our vision and mission. Key Responsibilities Payroll Ownership • Administer payroll withinBambooHR Payroll, including new hires/terminations, pay changes, deductions, tips/service charges, bonuses/commissions, garnishments, and off-cycle runs., • Maintainmulti-EINconfiguration, earnings codes, cost centers/locations, and manager approval workflows; ensure time & attendance integrations (e.g., Toast/Nowsta/TPP/MarginEdge) sync accurately., • Ensure compliance withCA wage & hour(overtime, split-shift, reporting time pay, meal/rest breaks),paid sick leave,FMLA/CFRA,ACA, and local ordinances., • Reconcile payroll reports, GL files, and benefits invoices; coordinate with Harmony on payroll journal entries and month-end close. People Operations & HR • Serve as administrator ofBambooHR(HRIS):, • Performance reviews and goal-setting, • 1:1s and 360 feedback, • Employee records, document retention, and compliance, • ManageEasyLlamatraining/compliance; ensure required certifications are current for all FOH/hospitality roles., • Oversee training viaRestaurantOwner.comand our in-houseHospitality Certification Program; track completions and competency milestones., • Partner with leadership to design initiatives that foster engagement, motivation, and alignment across brands., • Leadonboarding/offboarding(checklists, equipment/access, first-90-day plans) to ensure smooth, consistent experiences., • Organize team-building events, off-sites, and cultural programming in collaboration with theCulture Club., • Act as a trusted point of contact for team members; coach managers on feedback, documentation, and performance improvement. Accounting & Office Oversight • Liaise with(outsourced CPAs); ensure timely handoff of payroll files, vendor updates, and HR-related financial data., • Monitor select AP/AR follow-ups internally as needed; provide light bookkeeping support when appropriate., • Ensure smooth data flows across systems (e.g., MarginEdge HRIS/payroll; POS/timekeeping payroll)., • Support general office functions and cross-brand coordination for resources, off-sites, and events. Skills & Qualifications • Bachelors degree inHuman Resources,Accounting/Finance, or related field preferred., • 5+ yearsprogressive HR/People Ops experience, includinghands-on multi-entity payrolladministration (California required; hospitality strongly preferred)., • Working knowledge ofwage & hour law, tips/service charge handling, leaves (CFRA/FMLA), benefits, and HR compliance., • Proficiency withBambooHR (HRIS & Payroll)or comparable systems; comfort with POS/timekeeping integrations (e.g., Toast, Nowsta, TPP) and MarginEdge., • Accounting fluency sufficient to reconcile payroll to GL, interpret financial reports, and partner with CPAs., • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; high EQ with a coaching mindset., • Strong project management; able to balance cross-brand priorities and deadlines.
