This Account Manager plays a key role in supporting DIRECTV’s sales efforts in Lodging, Institutions (L&I), and Enterprise verticals. As the DIRECTV L&I Account Manager, you will engage in every aspect of the sales cycle including front-end lead nurturing through to closing the deals. You will work cross-functionally with our sales and project leadership. Additionally, you will collaborate with the most exciting product vendors in the entertainment space to cultivate solutions to meet their needs. Job DescriptionDescriptionMarkey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio-visual services, is seeking a Full-Time Account Manager to join our team at the Iowa Events Center. The Account Manager is responsible for providing audiovisual consultation services to established and potential customers over the phone, online, and in person at the Iowa Events Center (IEC). Primary focus will be on customer account management and development for small to medium-sized events and projects, eventually working up to larger events. Position will include occasional nights and weekends as needed, based on the client assignments. Currently hiring for a Full-Time, salaried (exempt) position. Key Responsibilities • Discuss with customer their audiovisual needs and the purpose of the event, meeting, or presentation to gain a proper understanding of their goals and objectives., • Provide consultation and suggestions on the best possible applications of audiovisual equipment based on customers’ needs and budgets., • Prepare quotes, track equipment and prepare/submit billing., • Confer with other Account Managers, Project Managers and Technicians for suggestions and ideas to determine appropriate audiovisual solutions for the customer when necessary., • Arrange and actively participate in planning meetings and site inspections for clients and potential clients with IEC and CVB staff, working to become a trusted member of the Iowa Events Center team as a whole., • Provide technicians with detailed information regarding location logistics, equipment, staging, and customer contact information., • Coordinate AV logistics (equipment, transportation, cross rentals) for select events., • Coordinate building logistics for select events. Attend IEC planning meetings and work with different departments to facilitate set up and strike of events, • Act as a single point of reference for clients throughout planning process., • Collaborate with Markey’s staff on event production to continually enhance overall quality of services offered., • Provide phone support for basic technical questions/problems., • Attend or be onsite, as needed and requested, to support events,, • Provide effective and prompt responses to all customer inquiries., • Confer with Event Technicians to ensure that clients’ expectations are fulfilled and review post-event status reports., • Prepare, review and submit billing numbers into IEC’s event booking system ahead of time and then finalize after event’s completion with accurate reconciled labor and cross-rental costs., • Work with Director of Event Technology and Office Manager to resolve any customer concerns or billing discrepancies., • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in audiovisual/events industry, with previous work experience as Event Technician preferred., • Ability to understand the client’s perspective while also communicating and interacting in a positive and professional manner with clients, co-vendors and the Markey’s staff., • Above average knowledge of audiovisual equipment involving operation, set-up, and applications., • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment., • Computer proficiency and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to learn R2 program., • Must have high attention to detail, excellent organization and ability to work within standardized processes., • Solid customer service skills; strong customer service background., • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently, and follow directions from management.
