Job Description Our Opportunity: The Accounting Manager/Controller directs the establishment and maintenance of the organization’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures for the maintenance of its fiscal records and the preparation of its financial reports. Successfully leads the Accounting team and their related functions. Directs general and property accounting, cost accounting, and budgetary control. Appraises operating results in terms of costs, budgets, operating policies, trends, and increased profit opportunities. This position is responsible for providing accurate financials, reconcilements, assigned projects, audit responsibilities, and mentoring team members. What You'll Do in This Role: • Manages accounting day-to-day responsibilities and direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the credit union including hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, disciplining as necessary, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraises performance and provides recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate.
