Job DescriptionDescription:About this Role The Mitigation Lead Technician plays a critical role in delivering high-quality emergency services following water, fire, smoke, or mold damage. This role leads field technicians, oversees job-site execution, sets drying strategies, ensures accurate and timely documentation, and provides exceptional service to customers during stressful events. The Lead Technician is responsible for training and supervising team members, ensuring compliance with Paul Davis and IICRC standards, and supporting field operations across Paul Davis Restoration of NW Chicago. Duties and Responsibilities • Lead and train mitigation technicians during daily field operations., • Perform water, fire, mold, and odor mitigation services following IICRC standards., • Set up and adjust drying equipment and strategies to ensure proper stabilization., • Complete all job documentation accurately using MICA, Mitigate, or similar platforms., • Conduct and record moisture mapping, readings, and job-site assessments daily., • Communicate clearly with homeowners, adjusters, project managers, and internal teams., • Ensure all OHSA/EPA safety standards, PPE protocols, and job-site compliance requirements are followed., • Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools to company standards., • Support after-hours emergency response as part of an on-call rotation., • Provide updates to management on job progress, team performance, and areas for improvement. Requirements:Required Skills and Abilities • Proficiency with MICA, Mitigate, or similar digital documentation platforms., • Ability to lead, coach, and support technicians in the field., • Proficiency using moisture meters, drying equipment, mitigation tools and power tools., • Ability to assess drying plans and make strategic adjustments., • Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, customers and adjusters., • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills., • Excellent customer service mindset and work ethic., • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas. Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED preferred., • Minimum 2–3 years of mitigation or restoration experience, • IICRC WRT or equivalent certification required. Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience mentoring or supervising field technicians., • Hands on experience with fire, smoke, or mold remediation., • Additional IICRC certifications (FSRT, ASD, MRS, AMRT, ORT)., • Other industry certifications (OSHA Lead RRP, EPA Mold, OSHA 10/30 Hour). Schedule • Full-time: 30–40 hours per week depending on workload., • Must be available for rotating overnight and weekend on-call shifts.
