Job DescriptionDescription: Assistant Outreach Manager position will lead by example in providing exceptional customer service to our clients, meeting their direct needs, being assertive to ensure the rules of the Outreach operations are followed. Their duties involve helping train outreach staff, ensuring the team works toward company goals and objectives, and making sure the team is following all policies and procedures. The Assistant Outreach Manager will support the Outreach Director and act as the Outreach Director when needed. Assistant Outreach Manager will also fill in as Outreach Assistant when needed. Responsibilities will also include (but are not limited to) outreach staff scheduling, data entry, volunteer management, direct impact delivery through the outreach services, working with partner organizations, building partnerships, enhancing/adding to existing services, and any other tasks assigned by the Director of Outreach Services. This position reports directly to the Outreach Director. Requirements: Responsibilities and Duties: Outreach and Support: • Assistant Outreach Manager with all outreach services to include registration, mail, laundry, showers, charging stations, storage, clothing, hygiene products, computer lab etc., • Build trusting relationships with unsheltered individuals, offering empathy, compassion, and non-judgmental support., • Assist with in-kind donation processing as directed by the Director of Outreach Services., • Assist the Director of Outreach Services with preparing supplies for Outreach Events at different locations., • Ensure the cleanliness of the Outreach areas, • Supplies, restocking, and notifying the Outreach Director of purchases needed, • Tasks- Cleaning showers & completing any tasks associated with providing outreach services, • Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure clarity and consistency and compliance, • Regularly review and refine procedures and update operational improvements, • Identify opportunities to enhance and add to existing services, • Train new outreach team members on best practices, safety protocols, effective communication, and trauma-informed care., • Conduct ongoing training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of outreach team members., • Provide coaching and guidance to team members, offering constructive feedback and support for their professional growth., • Supervise and support Outreach staff and volunteers, • Create a weekly schedule and assign tasks to all outreach staff as directed by the Outreach Director., • Ensure that the outreach daily schedule is complete and posted, • Review the Daily checklist to ensure that outreach assistants have completed the tasks required to open and close stations., • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, including client interactions, services provided, and outcomes., • Share updates on outreach activities, outcomes, and challenges for organizational leadership., • Assist in conducting initial interviews with prospective Outreach Assistant candidates., • Submitting maintenance requests to the Director of Outreach Services as needed., • Assist with oversight of Outreach Services Operations at the direction of the Director of Outreach Services., • Will submit inventory request, • Will assist with restocking, • Oversee data collection and ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency of service information entered into tracking systems, • Assisting with volunteer orientation and training as directed by Director of Outreach Services, • Assisting with delegating volunteer roles and tasks., • Collaborate with partners, local community members, businesses, and organizations to build partnerships and leverage resources for homeless outreach., • Demonstrate the ability to handle crisis situations with empathy and de-escalation techniques., • Provide guidance and support to outreach team members in managing challenging or sensitive interactions. Requirements • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, • Empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity are essential traits for success in this role, • Organized, accurate, thorough, detail-oriented, and able to monitor work for quality, • Experience in training and mentoring team members, with a focus on building a positive and supportive team culture, • Excellent communication skills, including active listening and conflict resolution, • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including homeless individuals, service providers, and community members, • Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques, • Experience in working with the unsheltered., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, • Ability to stand, walk, sit, run, and patrol for extended periods, • Must hear and see well (either naturally or with correction), • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead, • A considerable amount of time is spent making repetitive motions, • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with customers, • Ability to function with frequent temperature changes between indoors and out, • Work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain, • Stand and walk continuously for up to 8-10 hours during a shift while providing customer care, • Considerable amount of time using a telephone and/or computer, • Use hands and fingers for precise mouse movements and keyboard shortcuts, • Review and analyze printed materials for accuracy and quality, • Attend meetings and collaborate with team members in various office settings, • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate professionally in person and via email, • Use a headset to communicate with customers over the phone for extended periods, • Navigate between multiple software systems to access customer information SALT Outreach, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, or disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
