High volumes of cases are directed to the EEG Coordinator. The EEG Coordinator identifies patient specific case type and matches to the Epileptologist group that is on shift. The EEG Coordinator will coordinate all case types of EEGs to include routine, STAT, LTE, and POC. Duties/Responsibilities: • Correctly distribute EEG studies of all types — including ambulatory, routine, stat routine, long-term (LTE), PRN reads on stat cases, and point-of-care EEGs — to the appropriate readers., • Follow up on open EEG cases that cannot be read due to missing data or technical issues., • Ensure all open cases are closed in a timely manner through proactive follow-up and communication., • Monitor all accepted EEG cases to confirm they are completed within the expected timeframe., • Follow up on unfinished or delayed accepted studies to determine cause and facilitate timely completion., • Coordinate with the Quality Technologist on repeat or recurring issues to ensure corrective action and prevent recurrence., • Track down ordering providers when additional information, clarification, or study completion authorization is required., • Serve as the primary point of contact between EEG technologists, RRC dispatchers, and EEG readers, ensuring smooth communication and workflow coordination., • Participate in EEG quality meetings to review process improvements, recurring issues, and workflow optimization., • Train new RRC staff on EEG distribution, tracking, and documentation procedures., • Ensure proper handoff of long-term EEGs (LTEs) between shifts, maintaining clear case status and next steps To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
