Network Administrator Department: Information Services FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt Salary Level: 7 Salary range: $78,301 - $101,791k Position Summary: The primary purpose is to be responsible for ensuring appropriate availability, response times and security (collectively referred to as service levels) for all network, computer and telephony systems (collectively referred to as UHA systems) used by UHA associates, partners and customers, for: a) in-house systems, responsible for the acquisition, upgrade and maintenance of all hardware and software required to achieve appropriate service levels, and b) externally provided systems, responsible for monitoring and proactively working with the external service provider to ensure continual achievement of appropriate service levels. In addition, the incumbent is also responsible for ensuring security of Personal Health Information (PHI), Confidential Member Information (CMI) and other company confidential data. The incumbent is also responsible for working with department managers to develop, program and run reports as required or authorized by company policies and procedures Essential Duties/Functions: Security • Function as the security administrator for the associates’ access to all UHA systems, • Work with other departments and outside vendors to maintain the integrity of UHA systems, • Work with other department heads to ensure the secure transfer of information between the departments and external business partners, • Analyze performance and functionality of firewall, anti-virus, Internet proxy and email systems, • Perform maintenance and upgrades to firewall, anti-virus, Internet proxy and email systems, • Oversee the installation of appropriate security patches, hotfixes and upgrades to all in-house UHA systems, • Ensure service providers apply appropriate security patches, hotfixes and upgrades to all externally provided UHA systems, • Audit and review of user access, application and system logs for security breaches and/or unusual events, • Research, analyze and recommend new security technology software/equipment Network and Computer Systems Analysis/Maintenance • For in-house systems, responsible for the acquisition, upgrade and maintenance of all hardware and software required to achieve appropriate service levels, • For externally provided systems, responsible for monitoring and proactively working with the external service provider to ensure continual attainment of appropriate service levels, • Responsible for, but not limited to, MS Windows Servers, , the Local Area Network (LAN), MS SQL Servers, ATS system, Accounting System, Secure Web Server, UHA’s Web Site, Internet Proxy, Firewall and the telephone system, • Responsible for ensuring efficient communication with external partner networks., • Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and resolving network circuit and internet access problems to provide highest level of response time performance Production • Troubleshoot problems encountered by users on the PC, claims processing system, network equipment, printers, document scanner, and telephone system, • Manage with solutions providers resolve problems encountered by associates, such as Internet providers, hardware/software vendors, network, telecommunications company, • Vendor management for acquisition, installing, maintaining needed infrastructure, application, and services., • Subject matter expert for business processes related network interfaces, uploads, or downloads of data, • Responsible for documenting and maintaining the policies and procedures manual for systems assigned to the incumbent, • Schedule and maintain network systems for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual backups of UHA information systems, • Engaged with Co-Workers amicably and assist departmental associates as necessary Technology Enhancements • Work with other departments to acquire or develop, upgrade, and maintain all PC applications used in-house within the constraints of the annual budget and with the approval of senior management. PC applications include Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, MS Project, Crystal Reports, and others not named here or to be acquired in the future, • Lead, upgrades, maintenance of all system network equipment, servers, applications, services, and business processes., • Develop rapport department heads and associate assisting in discovering efficient and effective methods of meeting business goals., • Serve as Project Manager for IS centric projects. Create project plans, assign resources, and track adherence to plan. Maintain issues log and take corrective actions as necessary to stay on plan Other Duties/Functions • Attendance is a major function of the job. Incumbent is required to work at scheduled start time or inform immediate supervisor if unable to report on time., • Perform other duties as assigned and assisting with additional duties when workload permits, • Assist IS Manager to develop, plan, and test Disaster Recovery Procedures, • In the absence of the Computer Specialist including the incumbent will assume the daily duties of the Computer Specialist. Required Education and Experience: • Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field of study, • Technical accreditation and work experience will be considered., • Must have good oral and written communication skills., • Five years’ work experience in network and computer systems administration. Preferred and Advanced Qualifications: • Industry standard certifications such as CCNA/P, CCIE, MCSA/E, CompTIA, • Knowledge and experience with:, • Server operating systems and applications such as UNIX/LINUX, Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory and Microsoft SQL Server, • Network systems such as LAN/WAN switches, routers, firewalls, forward/reverse proxies and DNS, • End-user systems and applications such as Microsoft Office, Crystal Reports, VPN and RDP, • Project management tools and methodologies such as Microsoft Project, critical path management, resource allocation and issue logging/resolution, • Ability to analyze, plan, organize and implement complex projects with a minimum of supervision Physical Demands/Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
