We design beautiful, intentional environments, partner closely with families, and document childrens thinking to make learning visible. Our days are full of wonder, joyful play, and rich inquiryindoors and out. The role Were seeking a 2-year-old teacher to co-lead a toddler classroom that nurtures relationships, supports emerging independence, and sparks exploration. Youll observe deeply, plan from childrens interests, and curate materials and experiences that honor the hundred languages of children. What youll do • Build trusting, responsive relationships with toddlers and families through consistent, attuned care, • Implement playful learning curriculum grounded in childrens questions, theories, and cultures, • Create thoughtful provocations with open-ended materials and nature-based experiences, • Treat the environment as the third teacher: arrange spaces that are beautiful, functional, and inclusive, • Observe and document learning through photos, quotes, learning stories, and portfolio panels, • Collaborate with your co-teacher and team during planning/reflection meetings, • Support daily rhythms: transitions, snack and mealtimes, rest, toileting/potty learning, and outdoor play, • Practice developmentally appropriate, relationship-based guidance and co-regulation, • Maintain a safe, clean classroom aligned with licensing and health/safety standards, • Communicate with families with warmth, professionalism, and transparencyYoull be a great fit if you, • Believe toddlers are competent, social thinkers with meaningful ideas, • Light up around inquiry, play, and materials like loose parts, clay, water, light, and sound, • Are a skilled observer who turns childrens interests into project work and documentation, • Value collaboration, reflective practice, and continuous learning, • Are patient, grounding, and responsive during big toddler feelings and transitions, • Embrace equity, inclusion, and anti-bias practices; honor every childs identity, language, and family story, • Love getting outside, embracing mess, and following curiosity wherever it leadsQualifications, • Foundational knowledge of child development; familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach (or eagerness to learn), • Coursework in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or related degree preferred but not required, • Strong written and visual documentation skills; comfortable with basic tech tools for communication, • CPR/First Aid and required clearances (or ability to obtain), • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and be on the floor and outdoors dailyWhat we value and offer, • A mission-driven, joyful culture, • Collaborative planning and reflective practice, • Ongoing professional development in Reggio-inspired pedagogy, • Thoughtfully resourced classrooms and support from leadership Under the Magic Pine Tree is an equal opportunity employer.
