Job Description Job Title: General Laborer / Scaffolding Pay: $22/hour Job Description This role supports scaffold building operations on construction sites across the Phoenix area. You will assist in setting up job sites each morning, help build and dismantle scaffolding, move materials, and support the foreman with various tasks. The position involves consistent outdoor work, frequent travel between sites in the Phoenix area, and regular use of hand tools such as hammers while working at heights. Responsibilities • Set up the job site each morning to prepare for scaffold building activities., • Assist scaffold builders in erecting and dismantling scaffolding structures on construction sites., • Move and organize materials and equipment around the job site as directed., • Load and unload company trucks with scaffolding components and related materials., • Use a hammer and other basic hand tools to help assemble scaffold systems safely and efficiently., • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing physical labor tasks., • Climb scaffolding equipment, typically 20–30 feet high, and occasionally up to 50–60 feet when required by the project., • Follow directions from the foreman and assist with additional duties as assigned on site., • Travel across the Phoenix area to different job sites as needed., • Adhere to all safety procedures and site rules while working at heights and handling heavy materials. Essential Skills • Experience performing general labor duties in a construction or similar hands-on environment., • Ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday., • Comfort working outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions., • Ability to safely climb and work on scaffolding at heights typically between 20–30 feet and, when required, up to 50–60 feet., • Willingness and ability to travel across the Phoenix area to multiple job sites., • Capability to use basic hand tools, including a hammer, to assist in building and dismantling scaffolds., • Reliability and punctuality to meet at designated locations and follow daily schedules., • Strong attention to safety and ability to follow instructions from supervisors and foremen. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Any prior experience with scaffolding assembly or dismantling is a plus., • Experience using additional hand tools or power tools in a construction or industrial setting is beneficial., • Previous hands-on experience in construction, equipment rental, or related trades is an advantage., • Comfort working as part of a team and supporting skilled scaffold builders in fast-paced environments. Work Environment This is a first-shift role, typically working from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work takes place primarily outdoors on active construction and industrial sites around the Phoenix area, with frequent travel between locations. The environment is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting, bending, carrying materials up to 50 pounds, and climbing scaffolding structures to heights of 20–30 feet and occasionally up to 50–60 feet. You will regularly use basic hand tools such as hammers and handle scaffolding components while loading and unloading company trucks. The role requires appropriate work attire for construction sites, including safety gear and, once in a direct position, steel-toe footwear as part of the steel-toe allowance program. You begin with an orientation at a designated Phoenix site before reporting to various job locations, working closely with a foreman and team members in a safety-focused, fast-paced setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
