Job Description Job Title: Production Supervisor Job Description The Production Supervisor leads a high-volume manufacturing operation, ensuring equipment reliability, maximizing production line productivity, and driving continuous improvement across the plant. This role focuses on building maintenance and technician capabilities, optimizing changeovers, and using data-driven insights to improve asset utilization and overall plant performance. The Production Supervisor also develops and coaches a frontline team, provides effective change leadership, and ensures consistent adherence to policies, procedures, and safety standards. Responsibilities • Ensure equipment reliability to maximize production line productivity and minimize unplanned downtime., • Deploy reliability strategies that build maintenance and technician capabilities across the team., • Implement process improvements to increase package and flavor changeover efficiency., • Utilize visual factory concepts to improve asset utilization, visibility, and overall plant performance., • Track standard manufacturing and warehouse metrics and use them to prioritize plant maintenance opportunities., • Ensure proper utilization and accuracy of the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)., • Develop and lead a team capable of handling day-to-day operational issues while achieving short- and long-term performance goals., • Deliver effective change leadership while driving business changes and minimizing impact on people., • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to help teams quickly resolve operational issues., • Build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, coaching, and clear communication for front-line hourly personnel., • Motivate team members to achieve production, quality, safety, and efficiency goals., • Administer and enforce plant policies, procedures, and standard work practices consistently., • Prioritize work requests and coordinate maintenance activities to support production schedules., • Oversee preventive maintenance (PM) completion rates and ensure tasks are completed on time and to standard., • Approve payroll and ensure accurate timekeeping and attendance records for direct reports., • Hold employees accountable for performance, including setting expectations, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues., • Maintain regular and predictable attendance at the work site and ensure team coverage to support operational needs., • Spend regular time on the plant floor to monitor operations, support employees, and address issues in real time., • Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds and, as needed, operate forklifts and manufacturing equipment in a safe manner., • Work off-shift and some weekends as required to support 24/7 or extended operations., • Travel occasionally (less than 5%) for meetings, training, or support of other facilities. Essential Skills • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or a similar field., • 5+ years of operations maintenance experience preferred, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment., • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred, leading frontline or maintenance teams., • Mechanical and electrical experience in maintaining production equipment., • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance., • Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating effective repairs., • Understanding of PLC programming preferred, with the ability to work with controls and automation teams., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)., • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback to support continuous improvement and employee development., • Ability to lead and facilitate a team-based approach to decision-making., • Demonstrated ability to excel in a results-oriented, fast-paced, and challenging environment., • Strong leadership skills with the ability to achieve results through mentoring and developing others., • Effective mentoring, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills., • Valid driver’s license., • Safe driving record strongly preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project., • Experience using Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to plan, track, and optimize maintenance activities., • Experience working with visual factory concepts and performance boards to drive accountability and continuous improvement., • Experience in reliability engineering practices, preventive and predictive maintenance, or similar disciplines., • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, packaging, or beverage/food production environments is beneficial., • Comfort working with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain., • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations, changes, and performance updates to diverse audiences., • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, balance short-term demands with long-term goals, and make sound decisions under pressure. Work Environment The role is based in a large manufacturing plant with extensive conveyor systems, producing bottled and canned products, including 1-liter and 2-liter formats. The environment is fast-paced and highly automated, with a strong focus on lean manufacturing practices, safety, and continuous improvement. You will spend significant time on the plant floor, working around production lines, packaging equipment, and material handling systems. The position occasionally requires lifting up to 40 pounds, operating forklifts or manufacturing equipment, and working in varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or snow when accessing different areas of the facility. The schedule includes off-shift hours and some weekend work to support production demands, and you may travel occasionally (less than 5%) for training or collaboration with other sites. Dress typically aligns with a manufacturing environment, including appropriate safety gear such as protective footwear, high-visibility clothing, and other personal protective equipment as required by plant safety policies.
