Job DescriptionMailroom Technician Location: Sacramento, CA Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM Position Overview The Mailroom Technician supports daily mail operations within a corporate headquarters environment. This role is responsible for receiving, sorting, scanning, distributing, and shipping mail and packages while maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Responsibilities • Receive, review, sort, and prepare incoming U.S. mail, interoffice mail, and overnight deliveries for distribution to departments, • Distribute mail and packages accurately to headquarters departments and Branch locations on a daily basis, • Process and meter outgoing U.S. mail using mailroom equipment, • Prepare documents for digital scanning, determine retention vs. physical delivery requirements, and distribute scanned documents to appropriate departments, • Operate desktop mail document scanners, ensuring image quality and performing audits to correct scanning issues, • Retrieve and deliver original documents when requested by departments, • Receive, inspect, and distribute courier bag contents from Branch locations, • Prepare outgoing courier bags containing interoffice mail, forms, marketing materials, and equipment; maintain courier bag tracking reports and perform minor repairs, • Process outbound shipments, verifying addresses, contents, shipment type, cost center coding, and tracking details to prevent delivery delays, • Process inbound shipments, verifying package counts, logging deliveries, capturing signatures, and confirming delivery through tracking systems, • Process ground and overnight shipments using FedEx software and provide shipping rates and delivery timelines as requested, • Assist departments with mail and shipment inquiries and resolve issues promptly, • Ensure proper handling and secure destruction of confidential or returned mail, • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all documents and packagesQualifications, • High School Diploma or GED, • 1+ year of experience in a mailroom, financial institution, or document processing environment, • Experience with mail sorting, scanning, shipping, and receiving, • Familiarity with mailroom equipment such as mail machines, letter openers, folding machines, and tracking systems, • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 25 lbs, • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, • Dependable and able to work fully onsite Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
