Position Summary Location: Portland, ORDuration: 10 Weeks (June 8- Aug 14)Hours: Full-time, 30 to 40 hours per week At Hanna Andersson, we create clothing that celebrates childhood and adventure. Our summer internship program offers hands-on experience, professional development, and meaningful work that contributes to the business while providing real exposure to how our teams operate. The Merchandising Intern, Collaborations will gain hands-on experience within the Merchandising function through involvement in sample management, product review meetings, business reporting, systems updates, and cross-functional partnership work. This role will also contribute to the development of a property and partnership library designed to support future collaboration opportunities across wholesale, licensing, and product collaborations. This internship is ideal for someone interested in merchandising, product strategy, consumer trends, brand partnerships, and the go-to-market process. The role offers exposure to both the day-to-day rhythms of merchandising and the strategic thinking behind collaboration opportunities that support the brand and business.What You'll Do • Participate in sample management activities, including photographing, bagging, stickering, tagging, and submitting Top of Production samples to the appropriate portals, • Attend fittings and gain exposure to product review and decision-making processes, • Take notes during Line Adopt sessions and maintain accurate updates in Airtable, • Support weekly business review preparation, including updating decks and, when appropriate, reporting out, • Gain exposure to merchandising briefs, product collaboration concepts, and the go-to-market process, • Learn and use PLM systems, including Kubix and Airtable, for attribute updates, MSRP updates, and workflow updates, • Contribute to the development of a property and partnership library that documents past partnerships and identifies future collaboration opportunities, • Research brands, properties, and market opportunities to help evaluate potential collaborations based on brand fit, audience alignment, cultural relevance, seasonal relevance, trends, and business rationale, • Help organize findings into a cross-functional reference tool and final presentation deck, • Participate in weekly team touch bases and cross-functional meetings to build understanding of how merchandising partners across the business, • Assist with ad hoc merchandising projects during go-to-market, including deck updates, sample pulls, one-pagers, and other project needs as they arise, • Participate in informational interviews and learning sessions to build broader understanding of the business and how cross-functional teams work together, • Present a final summary of project work, insights, and recommendations at the conclusion of the internshipWhat You'll Gain, • Exposure to merchandising processes within a consumer brand environment, • Hands-on experience with sample management, fittings, line adoption, and product workflow tools, • Practical experience using Airtable and Kubix in a merchandising setting, • Understanding of how collaboration strategy is developed across wholesale, licensing, and product partnerships, • Experience researching brands, trends, audiences, and cultural relevance to inform business recommendations, • Exposure to weekly business review processes and cross-functional decision-making, • Opportunity to complete a capstone project tied to a real business need, • Experience translating research and observations into a practical tool and presentation for cross-functional useWho You Are:, • Strong communication skills – able to ask clarifying questions and take direction well., • Naturally curious and willing to learn., • An over-communicator – not afraid to ask for guidance and excited to jump in., • Creative while also having a mind for process and process improvement, • Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with cross-functional teams.What You Bring:, • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, Fashion, Product Development, Communications, or a related field.Experience: 0-1 years (internship, coursework, or volunteer work in related fields is a plus).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:, • Interest in merchandising, brand partnerships, product strategy, and consumer trends, • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, • Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Comfort working with presentations, spreadsheets, and organizational tools, • Ability to conduct research, synthesize information, and identify patterns or insights, • Ability to learn quickly and apply feedback in a fast-paced environment, • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment, • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Suite, • Familiarity with Airtable or PLM systems is a plus, • Interest in trend research, licensing, wholesale, or collaboration strategy is a plus, • Openness to learning new tools and technologies, including AI, with an interest in how they can thoughtfully support efficiency, insight, and innovation.Eligibility & Application Details:, • Must be 18 years or older.
