WAGE RANGE: $25.50 - $28.10 JOB SUMMARY: The Food Warehouse Specialist helps lead the daily safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the Distribution Center. This role blends hands‑on warehouse work with inventory responsibilities, ensuring that donations, food products, and supplies are accurately received, stored, inventoried, and distributed across Catholic Charities programs. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, this position assists with staff oversight, training, equipment and vehicle management, routing and logistics, inventory control, compliance with food safety and health regulations, and maintenance of an organized and mission‑focused warehouse environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Operational & Inventory Responsibilities • Provide direction on inventory management, warehouse organization, • Oversee the receiving of donations and deliveries promptly; issue donor receipts and verify quality of incoming products., • Accurately record weights, counts, and inventory data for reporting and compliance., • Support the Warehouse manager in administrative duties and SHH monitoring and purchases, • Oversee pulling, preparation of, and documentation of orders for distribution to agency programs., • Assist in monitoring inventory levels; communicate shortages or surpluses to the Warehouse Manager and program partners., • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, shelving), following safety protocols., • Support routing, driving, and delivery of products as needed, ensuring safe and efficient use of vehicles. Compliance & Safety • Help maintain organized, safe, and clearly labeled storage areas following food safety and sanitation standards., • Assist the Warehouse Manager as needed in training staff for equipment usage, safety procedures, and compliance requirements., • Assist with on‑the‑job training for equipment usage, safety procedures, and compliance requirements., • Maintain working knowledge of CACFP, ServSafe, MDH, OSHA, and local health/safety regulations., • Support compliance with donor, food bank, licensing, government, and reimbursement requirements (NSLP, CACFP, etc.)., • Keep accurate records related to inventory, vehicle maintenance, equipment use, and safety procedures. Logistics, Facilities & Equipment • Assist with routing for pickups and deliveries from external sources and to program sites., • Help coordinate maintenance, licensing, and inspection of warehouse vehicles and equipment., • Support upkeep of the warehouse, dock areas, and storage rooms, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient environment. Collaboration & Communication • Work with Food Services Supervisors and kitchen managers to align product needs, menus, and inventory constraints., • Communicate inventory changes affecting meal planning or program needs., • Provide clear, timely information to staff, volunteers, donors, and agency partners. Other • Contribute to cost‑reducing strategies and process improvements., • Participate in data collection and reporting for accountability and client outcomes., • Provide coverage for Warehouse Representative positions when needed Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: Education & Experience • High School Diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred., • 2–4 years of warehouse or logistics experience; supervisory experience preferred., • Experience with diverse and/or low‑income populations required., • Experience with inventory systems, Microsoft Windows, and basic computer tools. Licenses & Certifications • Valid driver’s license with good driving record and insurance required., • Ability to pass MN DOT Medical Examination (within 30 days of hire)., • ServSafe Food Manager certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
