At times, it can be a fast-paced position and is a hands-on construction/manufacturing environment indoors and outdoors Essential Functions: • Safety planning and adherence to all OSHA, VOSHA, and ACI safety standards, • Operates lifting equipment necessary for unloading/loading and transferring materials including breaking down pallets, crates, bales, and other containers, • Receive and check in construction materials while verifying inbound goods against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation, • Records all inventory transactions using company computer systems for inventory tracking, • Perform quality control checks on incoming materials; identify damage, discrepancies, or shortages, • Mark materials with correct identifying labels, barcodes, or tags and distribute them to designated locations as needed, • Move inventory from receiving to appropriate storage or staging areas, • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product locations within the drop yard, • Conduct regular cycle counts, full physical inventories, and reconciliation of variances., • Assist in cross-functional warehouse duties as needed (shipping, light assembly, paint touch up), • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following, • Adhere to company standards, and safety procedures Supervisory Responsibility: No Required: • 3+ years of experience with any combination of the following: inventory managing, material managing, and/or material staging in the construction industry, • Certified forklift operator with experience on other equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and lulls. (Plus+ for overhead cranes, multidirectional lifts, and straddle carriers), • Able to work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs., • Frequently is requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms, • Able to frequently work outdoors year round, • Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus, • Proficient in general computer equipment and Microsoft office products, • Ability read and write in English. Spanish is a plus, • Excellent math and geometry skills, • Possess a willingness to grow with the job and teambuilding, • Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods, • Must adhere to company policies and procedures, • Must be available to work assigned schedules, • Willing to make site visits to perform field verification as required The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following: Work Environment: • May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness, • May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels, • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust, • May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights Physical Demands: • This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools, • While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs, • Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms, • Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus Travel: • Prior military experience, • Experience with Structural steel detailing using SDS/2 or (Tekla – preferred), • HS diploma or GED equivalent, • The Steel Detailer should be fluent with computer use and software navigation, • Able to use Microsoft office Visit us at for more information!
