About This Role: Fleet Technicians — also known as Automotive Maintenance and Repair Technicians or Shop Mechanics — perform critical functions related to vehicle acquisitions, pre-purchase inspections, equipment installations, routine maintenance, diagnostics, roadside assistance, and drivetrain and body repairs. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in all aspects of Coastline’s fleet operations, including diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of vehicles across multiple states. Responsibilities: • Assist in the purchase of vehicles by researching, inspecting, and negotiating acquisitions., • Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicle interiors/exteriors and the fleet facility., • Equip vehicles with necessary safety hardware, video/telemetry systems, supplies, graphics, and decals., • Perform maintenance and repairs on various systems, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components., • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and multi-point inspections., • Accurately document and communicate all work performed, including time and parts used., • Provide roadside support to instructors, contractors, vendors, and fellow fleet team members., • Maintain accountability through performance metrics (e.g., punctuality, efficiency, communication, accuracy)., • Coordinate vehicle deliveries, exchanges, and retrievals., • Drive varying distances to transport vehicles between locations., • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (2+ years preferred)., • Minimum 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, or in a related shop environment., • ASE or manufacturer certifications are a plus., • Comfortable with technology, new platforms, and regular communication., • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities., • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong documentation habits., • Ability to sit for extended periods in a vehicle., • Ability to stand for long durations and work in awkward positions.
