Job Description Job Title: CMM Programmer Job Description The CMM Programmer develops, maintains, and executes CMM inspection programs to verify that materials, tooling, and manufactured parts meet engineering drawings and quality requirements. This role performs detailed dimensional and visual inspections on parts, fixtures, jigs, cutting tools, drills, taps, and related components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), surface table layouts, bench setups, and specialized gauges. The CMM Programmer sets up and lays out parts, establishes inspection starting points when needed, determines part acceptability, and accurately documents and reports inspection results in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures. Success in this position requires a strong understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T, and close-tolerance inspection in a high-precision manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and execute CMM inspection programs to support dimensional verification of manufactured parts, tooling, and materials., • Program, set up, and inspect parts using Zeiss DB Series CMM and Calypso software., • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using CMM and conventional inspection equipment., • Conduct surface table layouts and utilize precision inspection tools, including bench setups and specialized gauges., • Inspect parts, fixtures, jigs, cutting tools, drills, taps, and related components for compliance with engineering drawings and quality requirements., • Complete full part setup and layout, including establishing inspection starting points when required., • Determine part acceptability based on inspection results, engineering drawings, and quality standards., • Interpret mechanical drawings, including GD&T, in accordance with ANSI Y14.5., • Work to close tolerances, blueprints, specifications, and special instructions to ensure high-precision results., • Prepare, complete, and maintain inspection documentation, including First Article Reports (AS9102)., • Apply statistical quality control methods during inspection and reporting activities., • Ensure compliance with ISO9000 and AS9100 quality system requirements in all inspection processes., • Support and execute model-based inspection requirements as needed., • Utilize FARO laser tracking equipment for inspection and verification when required., • Manage multiple projects and inspection priorities effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, to relevant stakeholders., • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with modern CMM equipment and CMM programming., • Demonstrated experience programming and operating Zeiss DB Series CMM and Calypso software., • Proficiency with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and related precision equipment., • Advanced shop mathematics skills to support accurate measurement, analysis, and problem-solving., • Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings and GD&T in accordance with ANSI Y14.5., • Thorough understanding of ISO9000 and AS9100 quality systems and their application in manufacturing inspection., • Knowledge of statistical quality control methods and applicable specifications., • Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting and reporting inspection results., • High level of discipline, accuracy, attention to detail, and strong work ethic., • Experience performing close-tolerance inspection in a high-precision manufacturing environment., • Experience in supporting model-based inspection requirements., • Familiarity with FARO laser tracking equipment for dimensional verification., • Experience preparing and completing First Article Reports (AS9102)., • Comfort managing multiple inspection projects and shifting priorities. Work Environment This role is based at an industrial manufacturing site focused on high-precision composite and component production. You will work on-site, hands-on with modern CMM equipment, Zeiss DB Series CMM, Calypso software, FARO laser tracking systems, and a full range of precision inspection tools. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with the expectation that you are comfortable working overtime when needed to support production and customer demands. The environment is production-oriented and fast-paced, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to established procedures. Typical attire is casual and practical for a manufacturing setting, such as a t-shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes, suitable for working around machinery and inspection equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
