Knowledge and ability to utilize Carlson software is a plus, • Must be capable of working on multiple projects and multiple project teams andutilize time management skills to keep projects and tasks in order., • Ability to evaluate personnel performance, and perform budgeting and cost control techniques., • Ability to use judgement to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one., • Ability to utilize problem solving skills to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions., • Ability to train personnel in all aspects of field and/or office surveying practices., • Must have proven skills and experience in the following: industry and professional knowledge, communication, planning, team work, decision-making, judgment, project management and problem solving. Role Summary: This is an In Office Position The Senior Survey Project Manager will also serve as the Fort Myers office Survey Department Manager and is responsible for the direction of subordinate survey personnel in performing office and field survey functions including, but not limited to: boundary and right-of-way surveys, topographic data acquisition, recovery and establishment of County geodetic control points, construction layouts and measurements of engineering related structures. The Senior Survey Project Manager demonstrates, either from past experience or from experience on the job at RWA, Inc., increasing expertise in utilizing field equipment, electronic products and other software, strong organizational skills, a willingness to learn new duties, and the ability to work well with and coordinate work with other staff members in order to provide optimal service to our clients. What youll do: General Functions * Performs a broad variety of skills, including but not limited to technical survey assignments of a responsible nature. Supervises assigned field crews and technicians. * The Senior Project Manager demonstrates, either from past experience or from experience on the job at RWA, Inc., increasing expertise in utilizing field equipment, electronic products and other software, strong organizational skills, a willingness to learn new duties, and the ability to work well with and coordinate work with other staff members in order to provide optimal service to our clients. * Responsible for the preparation of proposals, work flow and project schedules. • Advanced technical and supervisory work in the office and/or field in connection with various surveying tasks., • Responsible for the direction of subordinate survey personnel in performing office and field survey functions including, but not limited to: boundary and right-of-way surveys, topographic data acquisition, recovery and establishment of County geodetic control points, construction layouts and measurements of engineering related structures. Uses of data collection devices (i.e., electronic data collectors, field computers and field books) and makes advanced plane survey calculations. Communicates surveying needs to supervisors as necessary. Work is performed under the immediate supervision of Director of Survey, who evaluates performance based on accuracy and efficiency of operations and supervisory skills demonstrated. * Authority to recruit, hire, retain and discharge staff. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule. • Accept responsibility for giving, seeking and acting on feedback needed: for personal career development and peak professional performance; to keep PIC apprised of project status and needs; to resolve project-related technical problems; to resolve project-related personnel issues; and to provide training opportunities for survey staff., • Develop firm survey staff through on-the-job coaching and regular use of significant incidents, project performance review forms, and personal development plan discussions. Recommend additional staff as needed. Develop support relationships with field staff., • Consistently strides to exceed client expectations by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely communication of information to and from clients and firm staff., • Increase the flow of new work by: finding expanded/new work opportunities with existing clients; finding opportunities to serve new clients; preparing winning proposals and reviewing proposals with other survey managers; supporting business development efforts by providing fee estimates and scope of work for other department managers; and execute contracts and change orders., • Ensure the preparation of accurate, complete, and value-added work products by: monitoring budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, weekly reports; identifying and implementing ideas that save client time and money or that effectively solve potential problems/opportunities; reviewing interim work products/submittals and providing needed feedback, accuracy, completeness, and value; mentoring firm field team members; asking the client to identify products/services that provide the greatest value; perform quality control review of firm design plans for completeness for construction staking; and make regular site visits to monitor projects and clients needs., • Ensure timely document delivery by: monitoring/adjusting schedules; communicating with client and project team members assigning/managing the needed resources; and completing assigned tasks on or ahead of schedule., • Deliver profitable projects by: preparing and maintaining Project Workplans, monitoring and acting quickly on budget deviations (hours/$) and extra service opportunities; continuous open communication among client, subconsultants and firm team members; appropriate use of available technology; and managing subconsultants., • Ensure the accurate and complete preparation of and sign: Final Maps; Records of Survey; Subdivision Plats; and other legal documents., • Competent knowledge of/and able to perform the following: analyze survey control GPS and conventional; preparation of ALTA surveys; ensure the accurate and complete preparation of, and sign: ALTA Surveys, Maps, Plats, and Legal Descriptions., • Ability to evaluate personnel performance, and perform budgeting and cost control techniques., • Have ability to train personnel in all aspects of field and/or office surveying practices., • Possesses knowledge of practical safety procedures and complies with Florida Department of transportation regulations., • Expected to be active in the community through professional societies and organizations, attend industry related events, and represent RWA in a professional manner at all times.
