Role Overview: The Culinary Operations & Purchasing Coordinator is a vital cross-functional role responsible for ensuring the seamless administrative, logistical, and operational support of kitchen and culinary services. This position blends culinary expertise with strong administrative and purchasing skills to support chefs, kitchen staff, and executive leadership in a dynamic food service environment. Key responsibilities include managing procurement of food and kitchen supplies, maintaining vendor relationships, coordinating culinary schedules and events, supporting executive-level initiatives, and performing high-accuracy data entry and reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of kitchen workflows, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to multitask across administrative and culinary operations. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and can navigate both front- and back-of-house challenges with professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee purchasing and inventory management for kitchen operations, • Coordinate vendor communications, order tracking, and cost control, • Provide administrative and executive assistant support to culinary leadership, • Manage schedules, meetings, catering logistics, and kitchen events, • Maintain accurate records, reports, and data entry across inventory and operations, • Support compliance with food safety, health, and internal audit requirements, • Act as liaison between culinary staff, suppliers, and executive management, • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and tracking kitchen expenditures, • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in food production or hospitality., • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage vendor relationships effectively., • Proficiency in procurement systems and inventory management tools; experience with traceability systems is a plus., • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and an analytical mindset., • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including kitchen, inventory, and operations., • Strong administrative background, including executive support and data entry., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors and internal stakeholders., • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a calm, professional demeanor., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace., • Culinary training or food service background., • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred., • Competitive salary: $65,000–$78,000 per year., • Health insurance, PTO, and professional development opportunities. This position requires on-site presence as an essential function of the role and will require travel to LIC, NY and Bronx, NY. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management. For this position, an on-site presence is required at any of our locations depending on the needs of the Director of Operations. Continually operates a computer, keyboard and mouse, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, and mobile Smartphone device. Constantly positions self to comfortably maintain computer equipment. May occasionally be required to move about in an office setting or position office equipment weighing between 10-25 pounds. Must be able to perform the duties required to cook in a high volume kitchen (including, but not limited to, operating kitchen equipment, standing for long hours, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lbs., etc.).
