Job Description Here Hospitality Group is hiring for nimbu: Indian Street Food, opening soon off of Route 1 in Princeton, NJ. We’re looking for dependable, hardworking Kitchen Porters who take pride in keeping both the front-of-house and back-of-house clean, organized, and running smoothly. This role is essential to our daily operation. You’ll support the entire restaurant team — from dish pit to dining area — and work directly with an experienced, people-first leadership team who values respect, strong systems, and a calm, positive kitchen culture. Responsibilities Back-of-House Cleaning & Support • Operate a clean, efficient dish station throughout the day, • Wash, sanitize, and restock cookware, pans, utensils, and smallwares, • Keep BOH workspaces spotless — prep tables, shelves, sinks, drain boards, • Support deep-cleaning assignments (hood filters, mats, equipment, floors), • Assist cooks with kitchen organization, trash, and recyclingFront-of-House Cleaning & Reset, • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, beverage station, counters, and guest touchpoints, • Wipe down tables, chairs, and surfaces throughout the day, • Sweep/mop FOH floors and maintain restroom cleanliness, • Refill FOH supplies (napkins, utensils, condiments, cups, lids), • Ensure guests experience a clean, orderly environment at all times Opening Responsibilities (FOH & BOH) • Set up dish pit, sanitizer buckets, mop sinks, and cleaning supplies, • Restock smallwares, paper goods, gloves, rags, and FOH supplies, • Assist prep cooks with washing, portioning, and basic food prep, • Check FOH cleanliness: tables, counters, dining room floors, bathrooms, • Ensure the entire restaurant is ready before service beginsClosing Responsibilities (FOH & BOH), • Full breakdown of dish pit, sinks, drains, floors, mats, • Sweep and mop entire kitchen + FOH dining room, • Clean and sanitize dining room tables, counters, beverage station, • Take out trash, recycling, and restock supplies for next day, • Support kitchen staff with end-of-day organization and final cleaning, • Leave the restaurant spotless and fully reset Light Food Prep • Wash and portion produce, • Assist prep cooks with basic knife work (training provided), • Refill line stations with garnishes, sauces, and components, • Follow all food handling and sanitation procedures Teamwork & Culture • Communicate clearly with shift leads, cooks, and FOH team, • Maintain a positive, respectful, solution-oriented attitude, • Support the entire team with a “jump in where needed” mindset, • Take pride in being a key part of daily execution Schedule Requirements • Full-time (40 hours/week), • Must be available one weekend day, • Shift: 10:30am–8:30pm, • Extra hours available during busy weekends Requirements • Able to lift 30–40 lbs and stand for 10 hours, • Reliable, punctual, and organized, • Strong work ethic — takes pride in cleanliness, • Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant, • Basic knife skills a plus (not required; we train), • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. What We Offer • Predictable schedule with minimal late nights, • Opportunities to grow into Prep Cook or Line Cook roles, • Supportive, respectful leadership, • Staff meals, training, and long-term development By applying to this job, you agree to receive periodic text messages from this employer and Homebase about your pending job application.
