Job Description Reports To: Controller Program: Finance Location: Tarrytown, NY/Hybrid Hours Per Week: 35 FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time Annual Salary: $85,000 -$95,000 commensurate with experience Summary Description: The Assistant Controller is a key financial role responsible for supporting the Controller in managing the organization's financial operations. This position contributes to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. Responsibilities: • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets., • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities., • Reconcile and analyze financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards., • Collaborate with the Controller in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures., • Assist in the management of the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors., • Participate in financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making., • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards., • Support the Controller in special projects and initiatives as needed. Competencies: • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and regulations., • Proficient in financial analysis and reporting., • Effective communication skills to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders., • Meticulous attention to detail in financial records and reporting., • Ability to work collaboratively with finance and cross-functional teams. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • Accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting and analysis., • Effectiveness in managing day-to-day accounting operations., • Successful implementation of financial policies and procedures., • Positive outcomes in annual audits and compliance assessments., • Contribution to strategic financial decision-making. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation is a plus., • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles., • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements., • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel., • Inacct experience preferred., • Experience with audit processes and working with external auditors., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines., • High level of integrity and ethical conduct in financial practices., • Must maintain pre-employment clearances by applicable regulatory clearances as required., • Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship. Special Considerations: • Employee may be sitting, performing computer work for extended periods of time., • Hours per week, reporting structure, and location are subject to change per program needs.
