What You Will Do As a Legal Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will vary based on the practice group, but core duties generally include: • Document Preparation: Drafting and formatting professional correspondence, court pleadings, or transactional documents., • Case & Deal Management: Working closely with attorneys to manage case deadlines, docket court scheduling orders, or assist in assembling documents for deal closings and maintaining corporate minute books., • Filing & Organization: Taking ownership of electronically filing litigation documents with state and federal courts (e-filing), or managing electronic client files and pleadings indices., • Administrative Support: Arranging meetings, depositions, and conferences, managing calendars, and handling travel arrangements or expense reports., • Client Communication: Acting as a professional liaison between attorneys and clients to facilitate communication and the transmittal of necessary information., • Billing & Onboarding: Processing new file openings, drafting engagement letters, and reviewing, editing, or finalizing attorney time entries and client invoices. What We Are Looking For • Experience: 1 to 6 years of experience as a legal assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department setting., • Education: A background in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a relevant educational certificate/degree is highly preferred., • Core Skills: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, alongside meticulous attention to detail., • Adaptability: The ability to support multiple busy attorneys with different work styles while managing competing priorities., • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with standard legal technology stacks, which may include:, • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)., • Document management systems (e.g., iManage)., • Billing and time-entry software (e.g., InTapp)., • Electronic court filing systems (e.g., CM/ECF) for litigation-focused candidates.
