Job Description Job Summary: With general direction from the Shop Supervisor, a Mechanic provides a wide range of technical services on company buses, vans, and automobiles. This is a journeyman position that requires significant technical training and/or experience. Also works under the direction of the Operations Manager. Duties/Responsibilities: • Performs thorough and accurate Preventative Maintenance (PM) inspections., • Following schedules, completes all required PM maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation., • With direction from the Supervisor, performs unscheduled maintenance as needed., • Performs complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests. This requires interpreting and working from drawings, specifications and other technical materials., • Must be able to utilize a ladder and other elevation equipment to access the roof of buses and elevated light fixtures for repairs and maintenance., • Must operate CDL and Non-CDL vehicles (buses and vans) to perform road tests, as well as shuttle in an out of the garage for repairs and maintenance., • Perform DVIR repairs – daily based upon needs of fleet and work orders being submitted by drivers., • Assist with starting buses for AM/PM routes – (jumping off buses that won’t start, putting ether into the system to start the bus, etc.) As needed, • Able to stand long periods of time while performing medium and heavy duty motor work. (Ex: Performing a turbo replacement, etc.), • Sweep shop floor, wipe down equipment, tools, parts, work stations, mop spills and empty out oil reservoirs into main tank. Call vendor to have them come out and empty main tank to keep oil reservoirs empty and clean., • Conduct monthly inventory, based upon shop manager schedules, ordering parts using the computer system and restocking them in the tool crib., • Performs emergency roadside services as needed. Requires operation of either replacement vehicle or utility truck., • Emergency conditions may require calls at home, extended hours, or weekend work., • Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately. Job Description Apprentice - Compliance Fuel Technician Performs several duties pertaining to fuel systems integrity testing. Primarily completes petroleum support work orders and jobs at retail, commercial and private fueling facilities. Shares results of testing and correction procedures with company partners and customers with speed and accuracy. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.) • Adheres to company policies and procedures in regards to using personnel protective safety equipment and services provided by the company, • Assists in resolving customer equipment problems under emergency conditions, • Assists with implementation of quality improvement programs to meet company and JCAHO standards, • Communicates to supervisor any vehicle problems or conditions which would otherwise compromise the vehicle’s safe operations, • Complete and submit all required paperwork requirements (Referral Intake Forms, Insurance Verification Documents, Delivery Tickets, Clinical Liaison Activity Logs, etc.) and special information reports with specific deadlines in a timely fashion, • Completes shipping papers when transporting hazardous materials, • Coordinates the patient referral process including referral demographics, communication with customer service/clinicians, verification of insurance coverage, delivery, education, CMN retrieval and patient/referral source satisfaction follow-up, • Develops and maintains working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company; and all applicable governmental regulations, • Develops basic reimbursement knowledge, completely documents all information required to ensure reimbursement of equipment, products and services, • Develops technical knowledge, as appropriate, of the HME or respiratory products, • Identify, maintain, and develop relationships with hospital personal: case managers, social workers, physicians, nursing, etc., • Maintains assigned company vehicle in a clean and safe working condition, • Prepares and maintains written company records to include invoices, work orders, manifests and logs, • Processes all orders and required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, • Provide or assist with In-services training seminars and/or CEU programs, • Reports equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required, • Represent company at local, regional and other assigned trade shows, • Travel via company vehicle required to patient’s homes for set-ups and reoccurring delivery Qualifications Employment is contingent on • Background investigation (company-wide), • Drug screen (when applicable for the position), • Bilingual, preferred, • Experience with medical equipment, preferred, • Experience with medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement, preferred, • Experience in medical field and administrative record management, preferred, • Three years of related work experience, preferred, • Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations, • Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written, • Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual), • Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information, • Multi-task along with attention to detail, • Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills, • Email transmission and communication, • Internet navigation and research, • Microsoft applications; Outlook, Word and Excel, • Office equipment; fax machine, copier, printer, phone and computer and/or tablet, • Successfully demonstrates loading, unloading and proper tie down procedures as per company policy of transported cargo, • Understands use of all applicable home respiratory equipment and supplies, • Lift and carry office equipment at times, • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening, • Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork, • Requires lifting (minimum of 65 pounds) and transporting of patient equipment, • Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens, • Requires driving a company vehicle for the majority of the workday
