Job Description Job Title: Packaging Technician Job Description The Packaging Technician operates in a cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment to assemble, fill, package, and label clinical supplies while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. This role performs both manual and automated packaging activities, conducts in-process inspections, and ensures all work complies with Standard Operating Procedures and customer requirements. Responsibilities • Apply current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements consistently in all work activities., • Comply with all safety regulations and perform all tasks in a safe, efficient, and controlled manner., • Perform manual and automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products in accordance with specifications and quality standards., • Act as the primary performer of in-process inspections and Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspections to verify product quality., • Accept or reject in-process clinical supplies and drug products based on established criteria and inspection results., • Perform computer-related tasks, including signing in to jobs, completing in-process actions, and entering data accurately into electronic systems., • Participate in the start-up of packaging jobs, including preparing materials, equipment, and documentation for production., • Participate in the closure of packaging jobs, ensuring all documentation is complete and materials are reconciled., • Clean packaging rooms, equipment, and machinery according to SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices, maintaining a cleanroom environment., • Perform accurate counts of components and drug products to support inventory control and batch reconciliation., • Interpret 2D diagrams and batch paperwork to ensure correct assembly and configuration of clinical supplies., • Follow written instructions, work instructions, and knowledge assessments to execute tasks correctly and consistently., • Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks within required timelines., • Take initiative in daily work, follow through on commitments, and adapt to changing priorities or production requirements., • Demonstrated ability to apply Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)., • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with both hands, demonstrating strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity., • Attention to detail and accuracy in assembly, filling, packaging, labeling, and inspection tasks., • Working mathematical skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages., • Ability to interpret 2D diagrams and batch paperwork to ensure proper assembly of clinical supplies., • Capability to meet physical requirements, including standing continuously, frequently bending and squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds., • Ability to work effectively in primary, secondary, refrigerated (2 to 8°ree; C), and frozen (-20°ree; C) environments, including spending up to 80% of the day in a freezer when needed., • Ability to read, comprehend, and execute the content of English work documents, including SOPs, work instructions, knowledge assessments, cGMP guidelines, and safety procedures., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks., • Ability to take initiative, adapt to changing circumstances, and follow through on assigned responsibilities., • Willingness and ability to accept and learn from feedback, particularly related to quality and Corrective or Preventative Actions., • Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled pharmaceutical, medical device, or manufacturing environment., • Familiarity with assembly, packaging, labeling, and filling processes in a regulated setting., • Experience performing quality inspections, including in-process and AQL inspections., • Comfort working with Personal Protective Equipment such as filtering face masks, powered air-purifying respirators (PAPR), N-95 masks, half-face masks, and safety glasses., • Ability to follow gowning procedures and work comfortably in full cleanroom attire. Work Environment This position operates in a pharmaceutical cleanroom environment that follows strict cGMP and SOP requirements. Team members work in primary and secondary packaging areas, as well as in refrigerated (2 to 8°ree; C) and frozen (-20°ree; C) environments, with the possibility of spending up to 80% of the day in a freezer when needed. The work requires full compliance with gowning procedures and cleanroom protocols, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as filtering face masks, PAPR units, N-95 masks, half-face masks, and safety glasses. The environment is highly controlled, documentation-driven, and safety-focused, with additional hourly pay incentives for working in PAPR/refrigerator areas and freezer environmentsT Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $19.84/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
