Job DescriptionDescription: McCready is seeking a Senior Legal Assistant to provide advanced, high-level pre-litigation support to attorneys and paralegals handling complex personal injury matters. This role requires strong legal knowledge, sound judgment, effective communication, and the ability to anticipate case needs while independently managing key aspects of file progression. The Senior Legal Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and momentum across cases, coordinating seamlessly with attorneys, paralegals, clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, and the courts. Advanced Case Support • Draft, proofread, and format sophisticated legal documents, including motions, discovery responses, deposition notices, subpoenas, affidavits, and correspondence., • Prepare complex medical chronologies, fact summaries, and pre-litigation timelines., • Coordinate discovery production, track deadlines, and maintain detailed pre-litigation calendars., • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding scheduling, case updates, and document needs., • Obtain and track medical records, bills, liens, affidavits, HIPAA authorizations, and expert documentation., • Handle all e-filing for state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with procedural rules and deadlines., • Assist attorneys and paralegals with trial preparation, including exhibit lists, witness lists, trial binders, demonstratives, and evidentiary materials., • Mentor junior legal assistants by providing guidance on drafting, case organization, and best practices., • Identify workflow gaps and recommend process improvements to enhance pre-litigation efficiency., • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a high level of discretion at all times. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Minimum 3 years of experience as a personal injury legal assistant or case manager., • Thorough understanding of PI pre-litigation responsibilities such as: opening claims, lien acknowledgments, confirmation of coverage, medical records, liens, and settlement procedures., • Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite., • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as you'll be interacting with attorneys, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and clients., • Strong initiative, ability to anticipate next steps, and comfort working with minimal supervision., • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume caseloads and strict deadlines., • High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through., • Ability to maintain professionalism and client service standards in a fast-paced environment., • Collaborative mindset and ability to work with others.
