Job Description Job Title: Facilities Technician Job Description The Facilities Technician plays a key role in maintaining a fully renovated residential community by performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic to advanced repairs across building systems and apartment homes. You will work a regular Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, supporting a smaller property in the Manchester neighborhood on the North Side that is 100% renovated and currently only 50% occupied, with all systems brand new. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who takes pride in their work, enjoys day-to-day problem-solving with hand and power tools, and is motivated to help keep the community safe, attractive, and operating smoothly. Responsibilities • Prepare and complete all necessary repairs and touch-ups to vacant apartments to ensure they are move-in ready for new residents., • Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests and on-call emergencies, providing clear communication and quality workmanship., • Diagnose, repair, and replace components across multiple systems, including HVAC (filters, belts, thermostats), windows, latches, screens, hinges, sliding glass doors, shelves, baseboards, mirrors, closets, cabinets, countertops, appliances, plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, pumps, garbage disposals, toilets, window treatments, ceramic tile, grout, caulk, electrical components, roofing, walkways, asphalt, painting, carpeting, and drywall., • Perform painting, carpentry, and drywall repairs in accordance with RRP protocol as needed to maintain safety and compliance., • Assist in maintaining the exterior of the property to ensure strong curb appeal, including general grounds upkeep and snow removal., • Complete all work order requests accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner in accordance with company policies and procedures., • Provide preventive maintenance for all building systems, equipment, and components to reduce breakdowns and extend useful life., • Stay aware of and maintain knowledge of all utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture shut-offs, and sewer cleanouts to support efficient emergency response., • Participate in weekend work, on-call rotations, and emergency service call duties as needed to support residents and protect the property., • Work closely with the Community Manager and other team members, contributing to a collaborative, community-focused environment., • High school diploma or GED., • Minimum of two years of multi-site, multi-family, or multi-property type operational management experience, preferably with a portfolio that includes a mix of residential property types, or a comparable role in hotel, resort, or retail management., • At least two years of advanced hands-on experience in one or more trades such as plumbing, HVAC, boiler maintenance, carpentry, appliance repair, or electrical repair., • Strong skills in plumbing, electrical work, troubleshooting, facilities maintenance, drywall repair, painting, and carpentry., • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively for maintenance and repair tasks., • Valid driver’s license., • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis., • Ability and willingness to work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as needed to support emergency repairs., • Capacity to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including occasional exposure to outside weather conditions., • Trade school education and/or industry trade certifications or degrees such as NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, or HVAC are preferred., • Experience in multi-family housing, hotel, resort, or retail maintenance environments is highly beneficial., • Familiarity with RRP protocol for painting, carpentry, and drywall work., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose issues across multiple building systems., • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, team members, and leadership., • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team. The position is very active and hands-on, with regular use of hand and power tools and frequent movement throughout the property. You will work primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and may be scheduled for evening, weekend, and holiday hours to support emergency repairs and on-call duties. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
