Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Helper Job Description The Maintenance Helper supports production by cleaning and maintaining a variety of industrial machines, performing basic preventive maintenance tasks, and assisting with facilities upkeep in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role works closely with an experienced maintenance leader who provides hands-on training, including development of mechanical and math skills over time. Responsibilities • Float between production areas to support multiple departments with cleaning and basic maintenance tasks on various machines., • Clean machinery thoroughly to help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation in a heavy industrial setting., • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks over time as training progresses, including inspections, lubrication, and simple mechanical adjustments., • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to assist with repairs, maintenance, and cleaning tasks., • Operate lifts as needed to access elevated areas for cleaning and to change filters and lights, while following all safety procedures., • Work at heights when required, including on lifts or platforms, to maintain overhead equipment and components., • Support maintenance activities on large and complex equipment, including very large surface grinders and other heavy industrial machinery., • Assist with maintenance and cleaning work on equipment used in turbine manufacturing, water jet machining, saw beam cutting, and other specialized production processes., • Perform basic math calculations in support of maintenance tasks, measurements, and documentation, and apply training on fractions as provided., • Follow instructions from the maintenance leader and other another team members while progressively learning new maintenance skills., • Maintain a clean and organized work area in a hot, loud, and fast-paced industrial environment., • Adhere to all safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment while working around heavy machinery., • 2–3 years of heavy industrial manufacturing experience., • 2–3 years of experience utilizing hand tools in an industrial environment., • 2–3 years of experience utilizing power tools in an industrial environment., • Experience performing basic mechanical or facilities maintenance tasks., • Ability to perform basic math calculations, with willingness to learn and apply fractions., • Comfort working at heights and using lifts to access overhead equipment., • Ability to work safely in a hot, loud, dirty, and fast-paced industrial setting., • Capability to follow instructions and training from maintenance leadership., • Willingness to learn preventive maintenance procedures under the guidance of a maintenance leader., • Interest in developing mechanical skills and expanding maintenance knowledge over time., • Ability to adapt to working on a variety of equipment, including large surface grinders and other specialized machinery., • Comfort working as part of a large production team of approximately 70–80 people., • Reliability and consistency in attendance and task completion. Work Environment This role operates in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility that is hot, loud, and dirty, with a fast-paced production atmosphere. The maintenance helper works around large and complex machinery, including one of the largest surface grinders in the world, as well as equipment used for turbine manufacturing, water jet machining, saw beam cutting, and other specialized industrial processes. The schedule typically runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., supporting a production team of approximately 70–80 people. Work frequently involves the use of hand and power tools, as well as lifts for accessing elevated areas, and requires adherence to strict safety practices. Steel-toe footwear is recommended due to the heavy industrial nature of the environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX.
