To learn more about us and what we do, please check out our YouTube videos below: Overview: Video Tour 2020: About the Position: We are currently seeking a Saw Room Operator to operate our industrial band saws; and receive and transport incoming material. Benefits: • 7 Paid Holidays, • Paid time off (PTO), • Tuition Reimbursement, • Apprenticeship Programs, • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, • Health Savings Account (HSA), • 401k with company match, • Life Insurance, • Short/long-term disability, • Employee assistance program (EAP) Responsibilities: Receiving of incoming raw material: • Ensuring a material cert is provided with the packing list, • Verifying the material matches the packing list and cert, and that there are no visible signs of damage, • Identifying the material in accordance with work instructions, • Pulling material to be cut from raw material stock locations, • Loading and unloading material onto saws, • Setting up and running saws, • Performing cutting operations in accordance with job instructions, • Measuring cut pieces, using gages such as calipers/micrometers, and recording the results, • Ensuring cut pieces and raw material are properly tagged and identified, • Maintaining accurate piece counts and heat lot traceability, • Transporting cut pieces to staging areas, • Returning raw material to designated stock location, • Participate in department housekeeping activities., • Perform daily/weekly equipment PMs., • Adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures, including the use of specified PPE. Ideal Candidates: Required Proficiencies: • High school diploma or equivalent, • Ability to understand & follow written & verbal instructions, • Effective communication skills both verbal & written, • Must have dexterity and the ability to safely lift/maneuver heavy items, • Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, • Attention to detail / detail-oriented, • Strong work ethic, • Mechanically inclined, • Experience working in manufacturing or a similar-type environment, • Familiarity with pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment, • Experience working with metals, and a basic understanding of material identification, types, grades, heats, and material traceability is a plus
