🐴 Field Sales Rep – Equine Industry | Lexington, KY MKEMA is hiring on behalf of a well-funded software company entering the US equine market through Lexington, Kentucky, in July 2026. Our client is backed by a long-established global leader in the horse industry and is building the category-defining platform for horse-care professionals and owners. We're hiring our client's first US field sales rep. You'll be the face of the company across the Lexington horse community — walking into barns, breeding farms, training operations, and farrier shops, and selling two products to the people who run them. The role You're not behind a desk. You're driving across the Bluegrass region most days, sitting in tack rooms and on truck tailgates, doing demos on phones, signing up farriers and owners, and building the relationships that turn Lexington into our client's flagship US market. You're selling two products: → A farrier-side toolkit (scheduling, horse records, invoicing) — already in production overseas and now coming to US farriers. → A horse owner and multi-stakeholder platform — launching September 2026. You'll start pre-selling to large operations in the months before launch and onboarding them through go-live. What you'll do • Work a territory plan covering Lexington + surrounding Bluegrass counties., • Visit large horse operations — breeding farms, racing stables, training barns, hunter/jumper yards — and sell the platform as their single source of truth for horse records., • Visit working farriers across the territory and sign them up to the farrier product and the dealer marketplace., • Show up at the trade shows, breed sales, vet conventions, and farrier gatherings where the industry actually meets — Kentucky Horse Park, Keeneland, Fasig-Tipton, AFA conferences, regional clinics., • Feed market intelligence back to product and marketing — what owners ask for, what farriers complain about, who the competitors are on the ground. What we're looking for • 3–5+ years field sales experience — preferably selling into the equine, livestock, agricultural, or veterinary industries. Vet pharma rep, feed/tack/equipment sales, dealer rep, breed registry rep — all good profiles., • You know horses. Not as a hobby — as an industry. You speak the language, you know the breeds and disciplines that matter in Kentucky, you can walk a barn and not be the outsider., • A network in the Lexington horse community is a major plus. If you already know the people we need to reach, that's worth a lot., • Comfort with software demos. You don't need to be technical, but you need to be able to show a phone app to a 65-year-old breeder and not lose them., • Self-starter. First US rep, no playbook on day one. You'll work closely with the founding team and run your own territory., • Driver's license + willingness to be on the road 4 days a week within the territory. What's on offer • First US sales hire — you set the tone for how the platform sells in America., • Backed by a 200-year-old industry anchor — long runway, real ambition., • Competitive base + commission tied to farrier signups and owner accounts., • Lexington-based. Hybrid: field most of the week, home office or co-working the rest., • Health, dental, 401(k), expense account, vehicle allowance.
