About the Role We are looking for a Field Resource Officer to join our team and play an important role in supporting CACs mission. In this position, you will: What Youll Be Responsible For Your day-to-day may include: • Picking up strays as directed by the Field Operations Supervisor (FOS), • Picking up strays from local PD, Vet Hospitals, • Assist in returning dogs home when owners have transport challenges to picking up lost pets from the shelter, • Provide assistance to families in the community that may need food or supplies delivered from our Community Support team, • Other field duties as needed, assigned by FOS or requested by a Deputy Warden, • Inventory vehicles weekly to ensure Dog Warden equipment is in working order and in vehicles, • Complete the Field Operations Safety inspections and represent the team at monthly safety committee meetings., • Supporting additional organizational needs as they arise What Makes Someone Successful in This Role Were looking for someone who: • Is passionate about CACs mission and animal welfare, • Brings a positive, team-first attitude, • Communicates openly and professionally, • Takes ownership and solves problems proactively, • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, • Can balance compassion with accountability, • Is dependable, adaptable, and eager to learn Qualifications Preferred/Required: • High school graduate or GED, • Clean driving record, • Ability to handle all breeds/sizes/temperaments of dogs and cats to move them in and out of a vehicle, • Safe driving record, ability to safely drive a cargo/transit van, • Ability to use navigational tools and knowledge of the various communities in Hamilton County, • Familiar with county and state ordinances, specifically the Ohio Revised Code 955 and 956, • Anticipates and identifies problems, and proactively seeks solutions in the absence of perfect data; practices excellent and creative problem-solving skills, • Practices dynamic, holistic and critical thinking that consistently delivers exceptional results while maintaining alignment on timelines and targets, • Highly-effective communicator up, down, across and outside the organization, • Effective cross-functional collaborator who works cooperatively with other team members to find new and better approaches Why Join CAC? The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions., • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high., • Exposure and handling unvetted animals and their waste is frequent., • Danger from moving traffic, • Exposure to aggressive and sick animals, • Exposure to zoonotic diseases and parasites, • Temperature level will vary from extreme cold to extreme heat, • Moisture level will vary from extreme dry to rain, snow, and ice conditions and may require immersion in water, • May require evening, weekend, and holiday work., • On-call availability for emergency situations., • Potential for rotating shifts based on training level and organizational needs, • 8 or 10 hour shifts, • 2 shifts to cover 24 hours, first and second shifts, • Holiday availability, • Weekend availability
