When we succeed, communities keep their employers, families keep their livelihoods, and operators get the chance to build wealth through real ownership. We work hard because we know what’s at stake: generational businesses that deserve to thrive, and talented operators who deserve the chance to lead them. And while we measure our success in deals closed and businesses grown, the real reward is seeing these companies continue to serve their people and their towns, stronger than before. Where else do you get the opportunity to help someone become a CEO, preserve a founder’s life’s work, and strengthen a community, all in the same job? Job Description Who We Are: Based in New Jersey and established in 2010, Asset Based Lending, LLC (“ABL”) is one of the nation’s leading Hard Money Lenders. We provide fast bridge financing to real estate investors for the purchase, renovation, or new construction of single family, townhomes, condos, and multi-family properties as well as DSCR rental loans for long term investors. We have closed thousands of loans since we began lending sixteen years ago, producing over $4B in originations. ABL was acquired by a private equity firm in 2021, and with a renewed focus on growth, we’ve set our sights on consistent evolution and cementing our place as the premier private lender in the country. Our Mission is Simple: • Make Good Loans, • Provide Exceptional Service, Every Time, • Protect The Firm, • Build The Future Position Overview We are seeking a strategic, technically proficient, and highly organized Controller to lead our accounting operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented private lending environment. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller leads the Controllers group and is responsible for the books and the reporting of actuals: financial reporting, accounting operations, loan portfolio accounting, regulatory and covenant compliance, treasury monitoring, and audit management. The Controller works in close concert with the Finance Manager, who leads the FP&A function, under a deliberate division of responsibilities described below. This role requires someone who thrives under pressure, can manage competing priorities, and is passionate about leveraging technology to drive efficiency and scalability. You’ll be a key partner to operational leaders across the organization while building and developing a high-performing accounting team with a durable structure and real succession depth. Division of Responsibilities: Controllers & FP&A ABL deliberately bifurcates the Controllers group and the Finance group (FP&A). The Controller and the Finance Manager both report directly to the CFO and work together closely, but ownership is distinct: • The Controllers group owns the books and actuals. It books every entry to the general ledger with complete and accurate dimensional tagging — product, origination channel, branch, and cost center — and owns reconciliations, the close, GAAP financial statements, internal controls, audit, tax, treasury monitoring, and commissions. Actuals reported by the Controllers group are the authoritative record., • The Finance group (FP&A) owns the forward and analytical view. It leads budgeting, forecasting, projections and modeling, and the detailed, nuanced reporting of the P&L — profitability breakdowns and allocations by product, channel, branch, and cost center — along with management reporting packages and KPI dashboards, all built on the Controllers group’s tagged actuals., • The seam is managed “in concert.” The chart of accounts and dimension structure are designed around FP&A’s analytical requirements; tagged actuals are handed off on the close calendar; and Finance-led planning is supported with accounting authority from the Controllers group. Responsibilities below that touch this boundary are marked “in concert with FP&A.” Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance • Oversee preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP — the authoritative record of actuals, • Ensure accuracy of all financial reporting to management, the board, investors, and warehouse lenders, • Lead the external audit process, coordinating with auditors and managing all audit-related deliverables, • Maintain comprehensive internal controls and ensure compliance with lending covenants and regulatory requirements, • Oversee tax reporting and compliance, coordinating with external advisors as needed, • Manage year-end close processes and ensure timely filing of all required financial reports Loan Portfolio Accounting • Direct loan accounting operations including origination, servicing, interest accruals, and payoff processing, • Manage write-off processes and compliance with company policies, • Ensure accurate loan balance reconciliations with loan servicing systems and trustee reporting, • Review amortization schedules, accruals, and payroll allocations related to loan operations, • Ensure loan-level entries carry complete product and origination channel tagging so FP&A can analyze loan product performance and channel profitability (in concert with FP&A) Accounting Operations & Treasury • Manage month-end and year-end close processes in NetSuite, ensuring timely and accurate completion, • Oversee the general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations — including the dimensional integrity of every entry: product, origination channel, branch, and cost center tagging that enables FP&A’s P&L breakdowns and allocations (in concert with FP&A), • Direct accounts payable, expense management, and T&E tracking through the RAMP platform, • Review and approve financial adjustments, including rent lease accounting (ROU) and depreciation, • Monitor cash flow and bank custodial and trustee accounts for securitization activities, • Oversee roll forward and other critical accounting schedules for audit, • Ensure accurate tracking and allocation of branch-level and operational expenses that feed FP&A’s branch and cost center reporting (in concert with FP&A), • Own commission calculations and processing for loan officers and operations staff, ensuring accuracy and alignment with approved compensation plans; as day-to-day commission administration transitions to the Sales Operations Manager (a 2027 initiative), retain review and final approval Team Leadership, Succession & Organizational Structure • Design and maintain a clear organizational structure for the Accounting Department — defined roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines that scale with the business, • Create and maintain succession plans for key finance roles, identifying and developing internal talent to ensure seamless transitions and business continuity when team members are promoted or depart, • Train and mentor accounting staff to deepen their technical skills, fostering professional growth and building a high-performing team, • Build scalable processes and infrastructure to support continued team and business growth, • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration Strategic Finance & Cross-Functional Partnership • Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure alignment between financial reporting and FP&A analysis — one set of numbers, from tagged actuals through analytical breakdowns (in concert with FP&A), • Support Finance-led budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling — including the annual budget — with authoritative actuals, opening balances, and accounting guidance (in concert with FP&A), • Support warehouse line monitoring, covenant compliance, and lender reporting, • Serve as the accounting authority for department heads on accounting treatment, controls, and the numbers behind their results — while FP&A leads profitability analysis and business-partnering insights, • Lead or support special projects including system implementations, process improvements, and investor relations Technology, Process Improvement & Scalability

Job Description Most HNW tax roles keep you focused on one piece of the client relationship. This one puts you at the center of it. A highly respected wealth management and advisory firm is looking to add a Senior Associate to its New York team. This is an opportunity for someone with a strong high-net-worth tax foundation who wants to move beyond being brought in solely for tax and become deeply involved in the broader financial lives of their clients. You'll still work on sophisticated individual, business, trust, and fiduciary tax matters—but that's only part of the role. You'll help clients plan ahead, oversee their financial affairs, understand their businesses, analyze cash flow and spending, and coordinate with the attorneys, investment advisors, and other professionals around the table. The goal isn't simply to know the client's tax situation. It's to understand the entire financial picture. For someone who enjoys the technical side of HNW tax but wants a much broader client relationship, this is a very different seat. What you'll be doing: • Prepare and review complex individual, business, trust, and fiduciary income tax returns, including multi-state filings, • Develop tax projections, estimated payments, and proactive planning strategies for high-net-worth clients, • Work directly with clients throughout the year—not just around filing deadlines, • Provide business management and financial administration services across clients' personal and business affairs, • Review financial statements, budgets, cash flow, spending reports, and financial plans to understand the complete financial picture, • Coordinate with attorneys, investment advisors, wealth managers, and other professionals supporting each client, • Respond to tax notices, assist with examinations, and research complex tax matters, • Gain exposure to forensic accounting and financial work related to matrimonial matters, • Review payroll tax and other information return filings, • Take ownership of client relationships, including engagement economics, billing, collections, and profitability, • Become a resource clients rely on for questions and decisions that extend well beyond the tax return What they're looking for: • 5+ years of high-net-worth tax experience within public accounting, wealth management, or a family office environment, • Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual income tax returns for sophisticated HNW clients, • Exposure to trusts, fiduciary taxation, business entities, and multi-state filings, • Experience with proactive tax planning and projections—not solely compliance, • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus, • CPA preferred; CFP is a plus, • CCH Axcess Tax and QuickBooks experience, • Strong client presence and the ability to build relationships with individuals, families, and their broader advisory teams Why this one is worth a conversation: At most firms, becoming more senior in HNW tax means reviewing more returns, managing more engagements, and owning a larger book of the same work. This role expands the work itself. You'll still build on your tax expertise, but you'll also become involved in the business management, planning, financial administration, and day-to-day decisions that make you genuinely valuable to a client throughout the year. If you've built the technical foundation and are ready for a role where clients rely on you for considerably more than their tax return, I'd be happy to share more confidentially.

Job DescriptionAbout us Forus is building an AI-powered network that connects doctors, pharmacies, payers, and biopharma to accelerate new science to patients. Our platform automates the complexity between a doctor prescribing a medicine and a patient starting treatment, including insurance coverage, financial assistance, and supply chain navigation. We provide this support free to doctors and patients, helping them get life-changing medicine faster, cheaper, and easier. The resulting network enables biopharma companies to design better research, launch new drugs more effectively, and invest in harder-to-treat conditions. Forus has exceptional product-market fit and is growing rapidly through organic adoption: Accelerating scale: We already support patients across more than 85% of ZIP codes and partner with 9 of top 15 largest biopharma companies in the world. AI-native, durable model: Our business becomes stronger as AI improves, as every new doctor, patient, and partner makes the network more valuable. Backing to build for the long term: We raised $300M+ from leading investors to build an exceptional team and unlock the full scale of the opportunity. Our number one priority is scaling to market demand. We are looking for individuals who are high horsepower, high throughput, and hyper resourceful to help us increase capacity and grow. We move fast and need to move faster. If we succeed, science will be the only limit to medicine. All full-time roles are in person in New York. About the role As our first dedicated accounting hire, you will own how Forus closes the books, reports financials, and builds the systems and controls that strengthen our financial foundation as we scale. The foundation you build is what lets Forus scale its provider network and commercial partnerships on numbers that leadership, auditors, and partners can trust. You will run the close, own the General Ledger, manage technical accounting, implement controls, and engage directly with auditors and external partners. You will help architect the function itself: advancing our tools, designing the processes, and setting the standards that the team will inherit as we grow. We are a small and nimble finance team, and this role is for someone energized by doing the work and shaping how it gets done. This is a demanding role, with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. You will be expected to "act like an owner" and commit yourself to Forus' success. If you are low-ego, hungry to learn, and excited about intense, impactful work that drives both company growth and accelerated career progression, we want to hear from you. If you join, you will: Own core accounting operations end-to-end, including monthly close, GL, AP/AR, payroll, tax, and technical accounting, and set the cadence that delivers accurate, timely financials Design and document the controls, policies, and processes of a best-in-class accounting function, building infrastructure the team can inherit as we grow Drive technical accounting decisions across revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, multi-entity reporting, and capitalization policies Evaluate and implement the tools and systems (ERP, AP/AR, payroll, and adjacent platforms) that scale with the demands of the business Partner with Strategic Finance to produce the monthly reporting package, board materials, and investor reporting Work with Legal and Operations to structure contracts, pricing, and financial controls that hold up as the business scales We’re looking for you if you have: 5–10 years of accounting experience, including Big 4 or equivalent audit experience Demonstrated experience implementing modern financial systems and ERPs — QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp, Bill, Rippling, or similar — with informed opinions about what fits at our stage versus the next one Deep working knowledge of US GAAP, financial controls, and technical accounting Excellent written and verbal communication: capable of translating complex financial insights into clear narrative High NPS with your former teammates Bonus: Experience standing up an accounting function from scratch at an early-stage or hyper-scaling company This is a list of ideal qualifications for this position. If you don't meet every single one of them, you should still consider applying! We’re excited to work with people from underrepresented backgrounds, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. Working with us Forus is based in New York, with our full team working out of a beautiful and spacious office in SoHo. We run as a high-trust environment with high autonomy, which requires that everyone is fully competent and operates in line with our principles: Do the math. Be rigorous, assume nothing. Break problems down and reason from the ground up. Stay open to changing your mind. Resourceful optimism. Assume problems are solvable. Be audacious. Resist false constraints and push beyond the obvious before deciding. Spit it out. Speak directly, invite critique, avoid equivocation. We want right answers, not comfortable ones. All killer, no filler. Raise the bar. Hold a high standard for your pace and execution, and elevate the performance of the team around you. Mamba mentality. Fight for users. Start with users’ realities, not ours. Resist optimizing for internal convenience over user outcomes. We provide competitive compensation with meaningful equity (for full-time employees). Everyone who joins will be a major contributor to our success, and we reflect this through ownership and pay. We also provide rich benefits to ensure you can focus on creating impact (for full-time employees): Fully covered medical, vision, and dental insurance. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. Forus is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy or related condition, or any other basis protected by law.
