Job Description Nurse Practitioner - Veteran Disability Assessor (C&P Examiner) Location: 8300 Alcott St., Suite 302, Westminster, CO 80031 Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Full-Time) Setting: Outpatient Clinic (Optum Serve Veteran Services) Make an Impact Without the Burnout This is a unique opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to step into a meaningful, mission-driven role supporting our nation's Veterans-without the demands of traditional patient care. As a C&P Examiner, you will serve as a medical expert performing Compensation & Pension evaluations. Your work directly supports Veterans in receiving the benefits they've earned through service. This is a non-treatment role focused on assessments, documentation, and clinical insight-no prescribing, no follow-ups, and no ongoing care management. What You'll Do • Conduct comprehensive Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams, including DBQs and Separation Health Assessments, • Perform detailed medical record reviews and synthesize findings into clear, evidence-based reports, • Complete focused and full physical evaluations based on claimed conditions, • Provide medical opinions and diagnoses supported by clinical findings, • Order and interpret diagnostics (labs, imaging, etc.) as needed, • Submit thorough, timely documentation within 24 hours using a secure online system What to Expect • Manage a focused caseload of 1-3 Veterans per day, • Spend meaningful time with each patient (typically 1.5-3 hours per exam), • Collaborate with a supportive clinical team and Market Manager, • Work in a structured, low-stress environment centered on quality and accuracy What You Bring • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license, • Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills, • Ability to interpret complex medical histories and produce clear documentation, • Comfort with electronic medical records and online platforms, • A commitment to serving the Veteran community with integrity and objectivity Why Join Us • True work-life balance: No weekends, no call, no holidays, • Full benefits at no cost to you or your dependents, including medical, dental, and vision, • 401(k), continuing education reimbursement, and generous PTO (15+ days), • A lower-stress alternative to traditional clinical roles We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable federal, state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO), Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers (ULAC), The San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO) , and the California Fair Chance Act (CFCA).
