Join a team where your work has purpose and your growth is supported. We are seeking a Full-Time Hospice Aide to serve patients across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This position is part of Arc Hospice & Palliative Care, formerly known in the region as Hand in Hand Hospice. The role follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility to support evening or weekend needs as they arise. As a key member of the care team, the Hospice Aide provides direct personal care and compassionate support, helping patients maintain comfort and dignity at the end of life. Overview The Hospice Aide is a trained caregiver who provides personal care and support services to hospice patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Case Manager or the Manager/Director of Clinical Services. This role promotes patient comfort, dignity, and safety by assisting with daily activities and observing and reporting changes in the patient's condition. Assignments are made based on the plan of care and the aide's training and competency. Key Responsibilities • Provide personal care as assigned, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, and skin care., • Assist with ambulation, transferring, repositioning, and range-of-motion exercises as instructed., • Observe and report changes in the patient's physical or emotional condition to the supervising nurse., • Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration support, as appropriate to the care plan., • Provide companionship, emotional support, and socialization to patients, fostering comfort and dignity during care., • Take and record vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) if trained and assigned by the nurse., • Offer emotional support and maintain a respectful and compassionate presence in the care setting., • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, including light housekeeping related to direct care., • Provide short-term respite to family caregivers during scheduled visits, when appropriate., • Document care provided in accordance with agency procedures and timelines., • Follow standard precautions, infection control practices, and HIPAA privacy guidelines., • Participate in team meetings and in-service training sessions, as required., • Deliver care in any setting where the patient resides, including private homes and licensed care facilities., • Provide weekend or after-hours support when directed by the supervising nurse or Manager/Director of Clinical Services., • Maintains active certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) in good standing, with completion of a state-approved training program that includes at least 75 hours and supervised clinical experience., • Current CPR certification., • Ability to read and follow written care instructions and document care accurately., • Understanding of and alignment with the hospice philosophy and the needs of terminally ill individuals., • Ability to work in home and facility settings with reliable transportation and valid driver's license., • Demonstrated empathy, sensitivity, and ability to support patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
