Epilepsy Foundation of New England/ President and Chief Executive Officer Lowell, MA We are working with our client, Epilepsy Foundation of New England (EFNE) with a key leadership opportunity for a President / CEO to join the team responsible for the overall leadership, management and strategic direction of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President/CEO will provide visionary leadership, cultivate a positive organizational culture, and ensure EFNE achieves its mission and strategic goals while maintaining fiscal integrity. As a confident, energetic, and highly professional leader, the CEO will be entrepreneurial-minded and a creative problem-solver. The CEO will bring a breadth of experience and knowledge to the organization, yet remain open to learning from the staff, our members, and the community. Key duties include fundraising, financial management, Board relations, organizational management, and external relations. Benefits of the Job: • Opportunity to be part of a community -based mission driven organization with ability to make an immediate impact, • Comprehensive benefit package with no waiting period for health, dental and vision, • Generous paid time off including vacation, sick and holidays and a matching 403B retirement plan, • Competitive salary of $170,000-$240,000 commensurate with experience Requirements of the President/CEO: • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred, in nonprofit management, public administration, social work, or business, • 7-10 years of senior-level management or executive experience within a nonprofit or related sector, • Proven track record of successful strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and people management, • Experience working in social services sector desired, • Experience working effectively with and presenting to a Board of Directors, • Knowledge of and/or lived experience with epilepsy, seizure disorders, or chronic health conditions, • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, • Strong financial, operational, and organizational management skills, • Deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, • Strong business acumen and decision-making abilities with high level of integrity, • Ability to think creatively, solve problems strategically, and manage multiple priorities, • Passion for EFNE’s mission and the ability to convey it Responsibilities of the President/CEO: • Develop and lead the execution of a long-term strategic plan that advances EFNE’s mission and aligns with its core values, • Serve as the chief visionary and spokesperson, inspiring staff, volunteers, donors, and the community to support the mission, • Assess the needs across our service area, identify gaps and opportunities, and align our scope of services and organizational strengths to maximize what EFNE can accomplish, • Maintain a strong, transparent, and communicative relationship with the Board of Directors, keeping them informed of organizational performance, risks, and successes, • Collaborate and execute all policies and decisions approved by the Board, • Strengthen Board governance, engagement, and recruitment and develop strategic direction and achieve goals, • Oversee EFNE’s financial health, including the development, management, and monitoring of the annual budget, • Spearhead all fundraising efforts, such as grant writing, major gift solicitations, and events, in collaboration with the Development team and Board, • Cultivate and nurture relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors to ensure financial stability and sustainable growth, • Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performance senior management team and oversee all staff, fostering a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven culture, • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and effectively manages risk, • Act as the primary public representative of the organization, engaging with the media, partners, and the broader community, • Cultivate and strengthen strategic partnerships with other organizations and community leaders, • Develop and implement a marketing strategy that builds upon EFNE’s existing brand and engages the community in the mission The Epilepsy Foundation New England serves people affected by epilepsy and their families through education, advocacy, and direct support.
