Job Description Job Title: Server Work Location: Front Royal, VA Company Name: Front Royal Brewing Co. Reports To: General Manager Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time Age Requirement: 21 years old preferred Days/Hours Requirement: Available various hours Sunday through Saturday, including work on weekends. Serving at Front Royal Brewing Co is more than waiting on tables, it involves an overall knowledge of the craft itself, and therefore applicants for Server must strive to educate themselves on our artisan-brewed beer and locally-inspired food. You will work closely with our management team and your peers to provide our guests with a positive, impressive and lasting experience. Job Description: • Seek to understand our culture and do whatever it takes to create a positive and memorable guest experience, • Possess a strong knowledge of craft beer and the process. Educate guests on how beer is brewed, how menu items and seasonal dishes are created, and the flavors and ingredients in each, • Greets and serves customers in a professional and timely manner, • Apply knowledge of full drink and food menu and other restaurant information such as restaurant hours and types of payment., • Make food and drink recommendations to guests and answer all menu and service-related questions, • Take drink and food orders and enters them into the point-of-service computer, • Follow company policy in handling guest allergies/intolerances, ensuring our guests receive ‘safe’ meals, • Possess great guest relations skills to ensure guest satisfaction, recognizing first time guests, and getting to know regulars, • Anticipate guest needs so they never have to ask for anything, • Promptly run food out to guests with a sense of urgency, deliver food at proper temperatures, and without requiring asking the guest who it belongs to, knowing table and seat numbers., • Greet and seat customers, and carry out the functions of a host/hostess when one is not on duty, including checking the books for any reservations and communicates them to Manager on Duty., • Pre-bus tables as needed. Bus tables, clear, clean, and reset tables quickly., • Follow proper cash handling procedures, • Enter “to-go-orders” into a computer and print receipt as well as prepare to-go items necessary to fill order along with condiments, other food items and utensils., • Perform side work - as assigned by management (cleaning, restocking, miscellaneous duties), • Complete all assigned opening and closing duties to prepare for efficient operations., • Check and maintain stock of server station supplies and communicate shortages to appropriate person, • Assist other team members by helping out as needed to aid in the service of guests, • Effectively handle guests’ complaints and resolve issues to ensure overall guest satisfaction., • Demonstrate a helpful, positive attitude at all times to guests and team members., • Keep an upbeat, outgoing, and positive demeanor, • Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the guest dining areas at all times., • Arrive to work on time, well-groomed and in the proper work attire, and ready to work., • Ensure a high level of personal hygiene., • Communicate with management guest's requests, comments, or suggestions to aid in the constant improvement of FRB processes and approach, • Communicate health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management, • Properly handle food and use equipment according to food safety and personal safety guidelines, • Ensure bathroom cleanliness is maintained throughout the shift. Bathroom upkeep is a shared responsibility., • Comply with all state and federal alcohol laws, • Ability to understand, recognize and implement company values, • Strong sense of urgency and a love of serving others, • Ability to learn a changing food and drink menu quickly and relay that information to guests accurately, • Ability to serve guests in a way that drives sales and maintains a high ticket average through up-selling., • Ability to work positively and calmly in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment., • Ability to hear, understand, and respond to team member and guest requests in a loud environment., • Ability to work effectively within a team., • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills., • Able to communicate (speak, read, write, listen, and comprehend) in English., • Basic math skills, add, subtract, multiply, and divide, • Ability to use a POS system effectively and accurately, • High School Diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), • One year experience in a full-service restaurant preferred, • Approved VA Alcohol Awareness Certification required within 60 days, • ServSafe Certification preferred, • Continuous interaction with guests and co-workers in a fast-paced environment, • Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, walking, standing, bending, reaching, twisting, and frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
