Job Description Buddy’s Home Furnishings is the third-largest Rent-To-Own (RTO) retail provider of furniture, appliances, electronics, and computers in the United States. Benefits include: • Salary: $17.00 to $23.00 per hour, • Paid Time Off, • Closed on Sundays*, • Discounts, • Health & Retirement benefits (vary depending on location) Role Summary: A General Manager In Training (GMIT)is promoted or brought into the organization with the sole intent of being trained and prepared for a future management role within the company. This role differs from the MIT role as this individual is expected to obtain the proficiency to run a store location within 120-180 days. Training will be provided, and you will be cross trained in all aspects of the role. • This is an in-person job and only available physically at the specified location., • You must be over the age of 21 to be considered for this position. Principal Responsibilities: • Acquire and Maintain Customers, • Compliance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes, • Decipher, prepare and review financial statements and store reports, • Ensure adequate availability of merchandise at all times, • Fill out paperwork for submission to corporate support, • Follow monthly marketing plans, • Implement sales and marketing programs, • Maintain company vehicles within safe operating standards, • Managing inventory and cash assets, • Meeting company standards for quality, customer service and safety, • Meet and exceed target sales and revenue goals, • Implementing marketing and growth plans, • Prepare daily work schedules, assign tasks, evaluate employee performance; discipline, enforce company policy and terminate when appropriate, • Provide a safe, clean environment for customers and associates, • Recruit, hire, and train to ensure efficient operations, • Set goals and conduct weekly staff meetings, • Store Management, • Any combination of education and experience providing the necessary skills and knowledge are acceptable. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:, • Associate or Bachelor’s degree with course work in business, accounting, marketing or management., • Two years’ experience in retail or other business emphasizing customer service, account management or merchandising., • Must be over the age of 21 to drive a vehicle for work (insurance requirement) Physical Requirements: • Routine lifting, loading, and moving of merchandise (50-300 pounds) using a dolly, • Stooping, bending, pulling, reaching, and grabbing, • Ability to traverse multiple flights of stairs while carrying furniture, appliances, and electronics, • Prolonged periods of driving and standing, • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor climates and weather conditions Additional Information: • Buddy’s Home Furnishings is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace.
