Job Description Job Title: Assembly Technician I & II Job Description The Assembly Technician I & II accurately assembles mechanical and instrumentation components according to P&ID drawings, blueprints, and bill of materials (BOM) specifications before units move to final testing. This role requires strong tube-bending, instrumentation fitting, mechanical assembly, and measurement skills, with the ability to work productively under minimal supervision. Responsibilities • Read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and blueprints to understand assembly requirements., • Verify parts against P&ID drawings and BOM to ensure correct components are used in each assembly., • Perform mechanical assembly of units using hand and power tools, following established procedures and specifications., • Carry out instrumentation and tubing fitting tasks with precision to meet tight tolerances., • Cut and thread piping accurately, maintaining quality and safety standards., • Measure, bend, and install 3/8" stainless steel tubing, ensuring proper alignment and fit., • Use a tape measure to within 1/16 of an inch to confirm dimensions and tolerances., • Maintain thoroughness and attention to detail throughout the assembly process to support successful final testing., • Manage time effectively to meet production schedules and daily targets., • Work independently while following safety guidelines and using required personal protective equipment., • Lift, move, and position materials and components up to 50 lbs as needed for assembly tasks., • Navigate the manufacturing area safely, including walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and stooping during daily work activities. Essential Skills • Proven mechanical assembly experience with the ability to work from blueprints and production documentation., • Hands-on experience with tube bending, typically 6 months to 1 year of instrumentation and tube-fitting work., • Ability to measure and work to tight tolerances using a tape measure to within 1/16 of an inch., • Proficiency in instrumentation and tubing fitting in a production environment., • Experience cutting and threading piping using appropriate tools and techniques., • Comfort and proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing or fabrication setting., • High school diploma or equivalent education., • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and materials efficiently., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standards., • Technical aptitude to understand mechanical systems and instrumentation assemblies., • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines and production requirements., • Thoroughness and attention to detail in all aspects of assembly work., • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and stooping., • Capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily responsibilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment with mechanical and instrumentation assemblies., • Experience in valve assembly and related mechanical components., • Familiarity with non-climate-controlled fabrication or shop environments., • Comfort working around loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles while following safety protocols., • Commitment to wearing and maintaining required PPE, including hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA-compliant safety boots. The position follows a Monday through Thursday schedule. Required personal protective equipment includes hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA-compliant safety boots, and you are expected to adhere to all safety and shop-floor guidelines at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sand Springs, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
