About the Role: As a Technician Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to work side-by-side with our experienced technical team to learn multiple survey and testing techniques. The Technician Assistant will assist with CIS, DCVG, ACVG and other surveys as needed. The Technician Assistant will conduct testing including, but not limited to, structure-to-soil potential, soil, resistance and current requirement. This position will also correctly and safely operate test equipment including pipe and/or cable locaters, high input impedance digital multi-meters, clamp-on ammeters, electrical isolation inspection meters, and various hand and power tools. This position requires significant travel and will require you to be gone for up to 4-5 weeks at a time (daily per diem and lodging provided!) Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent., • Ability to follow detailed instructions and SAFETY guidelines., • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment., • Physical ability to handle tools and equipment, including lifting and standing for extended periods., • Ability to be technically oriented, willing to learn, communicate effectively with customers and team members., • Willingness to work outside and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for insurability, • This is a SAFETY-sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and random DOT drug testing, • Previous experience in a technical support or assistant role., • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and maintenance software., • CP1 certification or equivalent work experience., • TWIC card., • Assist senior technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems., • Prepare and organize tools, parts, and materials required for technical tasks., • Perform routine inspections and basic troubleshooting under supervision., • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report issues promptly., • Ensure compliance with SAFETY protocols and company policies during all technical operations., • Support inventory management by tracking supplies and ordering replacements as needed., • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, such as trenches, pits, and manholes, • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly, • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly, • Sitting, standing, walking, or driving for long periods of time (1-3 hours), • Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations, • Primarily working outdoors, including extreme weather conditions, • Working around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment The Technician Assistant uses their foundational knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems daily to support troubleshooting and repair activities. Effective communication skills enable clear interaction with senior technicians and team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately and safely. Organizational skills are essential for managing tools, parts, and documentation, which helps maintain workflow efficiency. The ability to follow safety protocols and detailed instructions minimizes risks and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, a willingness to learn and adapt allows the Technician Assistant to progressively take on more complex responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the technical team. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
