The Boeing Precision Engagement Systems Team is currently looking for a Panel/ Array ProcessManufacturing Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join the team based in Sylmar, CA. As a member of our Manufacturing/Process Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on projects covering the entire range of Spectrolab's products: everything from large and small solar cell assemblies, panels and arrays for a variety of space applications using the world's highest efficiency solar cells to airborne searchlight/gimbal systems and ground-based high-intensity illuminated test systems. You will also have the opportunity to directly contribute to development programs and to help shape our next-generation improvements in product, process and tooling design. Position Responsibilities: \n • Develops and implements production processes and generates/maintains process documentation to ensure correct and consistent process application in production\n, • Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions\n, • Participates in gated process/product reviews and presents PFMECA and process/training readiness information to both internal and external customers\n, • Leads and implements manufacturing plans and assists in developing and maintaining manufacturing training requirements\n, • Supports definition of required tooling methodologies to ensure consistent process application\n, • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements\n, • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices\n, • Identifies leading edge technologies, materials or process improvements and targeted automation to improve ergonomics, safety, cost, and schedule\n, • Develops and monitors SPC and process paretos to identify and correct process drift and identify and implement continuous improvements to product and process\n, • Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule\n\n This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): \n • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science\n, • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering role\n, • 1+ years of experience in assembly or mechanical work\n\n Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): \n • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience\n, • General Array Integration and Test operations support\n, • Maintaining production procedure and documentation\n, • Experience Leading or participating in LEAN events (AIW, 3P etc.)\n, • Experience with Factory Automation business capabilities such as machine tool integration and/or fabrication\n, • Experience leading RCCA investigations\n, • Experience with Database design/development (SQL preferred)\n, • Experience as process trainer (maintain training record)\n, • Familiarity with AS9100, NASA, AIAA, and other Aerospace standards\n, • Experience in hands on troubleshooting & resolving of process and/or test and/or software issues\n\n Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
