Summary The BI Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance Power BI data models and standardized reporting solutions. This role focuses on developing reusable datasets, optimizing data pipelines and SQL queries, and ensuring reporting assets meet enterprise standards for performance, reliability, and scalability. Key Responsibilities • Develop Power BI datasets and semantic models, • Build standardized dashboards and reports, • Optimize SQL queries and data pipelines, • Ensure performance, security, and scalability, • Partner with BI Manager and stakeholders to clarify reporting needs, validate feasibility, and deliver BI solutions that meet business outcomes., • Translate requirements into robust Power BI solutions with a strong emphasis on accuracy, usability, and performance., • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that visualize KPIs, trends, and opportunities., • Perform data extraction, transformation, and validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency., • Collaborate with external Data Engineering/technical teams to source required data, clarify grain/keys, and resolve data quality issues., • Integrate and analyze data from multiple sources to support decision-making., • Identify data quality gaps and implement process improvements., • Present findings and insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders., • Maintain and enhance existing BI products and automate reporting workflows., • Support release management: version control practices, deployment to workspaces/apps, permissions, and documentation., • Partner on integrated solutions where Power Platform data feeds BI: validate data structures, ensure analytics readiness, and coordinate dependencies, • Advanced expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), semantic data modeling, and performance optimization, with strong SQL development skills (queries, views, stored procedures)., • Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and ensure accuracy and consistency across reports and dashboards., • Experience designing and supporting enterprise reporting and financial analytics solutions; experience in food service or related industries is a plus., • Proficiency in modern data transformation and modeling tools such as DBT, with solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, schema design, and ETL/ELT best practices., • Experience using version control and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub) and familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow or equivalents., • Familiarity with modern analytics platforms and cloud data environments, including Microsoft Fabric; experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance and/or Snowflake is a plus., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and data insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
