Job DescriptionTax Manager Tax Manager Position Overview The Tax Manager will lead tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for individual, partnership, and corporate clients. This role oversees preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, provides technical guidance, manages client relationships, and mentors a team of tax professionals to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax filings while identifying opportunities for tax savings and process improvements. Key Responsibilities • Oversee and review preparation of individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws., • Lead tax planning and research projects, developing strategies to minimize client tax liability and respond to complex tax issues., • Manage a team of tax professionals: assign work, conduct reviews, provide coaching, and support professional development., • Perform final reviews and quality control on all tax deliverables, ensuring adherence to firm standards and deadlines., • Serve as primary client contact for tax matters: communicate findings, present recommendations, and build long-term relationships., • Coordinate with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities as needed to resolve tax positions and examinations., • Implement process improvements and leverage tax technology to increase efficiency and reduce risk in tax preparation and review workflows., • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes and train staff on relevant updates and best practices.Qualifications, • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required., • 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax, with demonstrated work on individual, partnership, and corporate returns., • Proven experience in tax preparation (Prep) and technical review (Review) of complex returns and tax positions., • Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes, regulations, and filing requirements., • Experience managing and mentoring staff, with excellent project and time management skills., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with clients at all levels., • Proficiency with tax software, research tools, and Microsoft Office; experience with tax automation tools a plus., • Masters degree in Taxation or related field, or EA credential, is desirable but not required. - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
