Overview We are hiring a highly motivated, detail-oriented Retail Operations Associate to support corporate and field retail teams. This position plays a critical role in connecting corporate teams with stores by translating initiatives, policies, and operational updates into clear communications, training tools, and practical resources. This role is responsible for managing, evolving, and optimizing retail operations channels to ensure stores receive clear, timely, and actionable information and support through operational execution, sales performance, and a consistent customer experience. The Retail Operations Associate will act as a key partner to field teams, spending time both in our Greenpoint office and locally in stores locations to ensure initiatives are relevant, effective, and grounded in day-to-day retail operations. This is an in-person role based primarily out of our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office, with regular visits to local retail stores. About the role Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities: • Serve as a positive and proactive point of contact between store teams and corporate departments to ensure strong partnership, clear communication, and smooth workflow., • Oversee the organization and maintenance of store support channels and communication platforms so stores have timely, accurate, and easy-to-access information., • Develop, prepare, and share clear retail communications, company updates, directives, and shared resources that outline initiatives, expectations, timelines, and next steps., • Create and track training materials and store-facing resources to help teams execute consistently and confidently., • Work closely alongside store teams, with regular in-person visits locally, to understand day-to-day operations, gather feedback, and partner cross-functionally to identify communication gaps and drive continuous improvement of store processes, procedures, and tools., • Provide operational support related to workforce management, including assisting with staffing alignment and scheduling best practices to support store payroll performance., • Assist the Director of Store Operations with planning, coordination, and execution of new and ongoing Retail Operations initiatives., • Own administrative responsibilities for the Retail Operations department, including organization, documentation, and tracking., • Support ad hoc operational projects and retail priorities as needed. What we are looking for Skills & Requirements: • 2–4 years of experience in retail operations, retail communications, or in-store experience, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information, • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment, • Strong proficiency in Microsoft platforms (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint), • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments, • Ability to remain composed and solutions-oriented under pressure, • Willingness to travel locally to retail stores on a regular basis Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, • Must be able to access and navigate retail stores and office environments Benefits at a Glance At J.McLaughlin, we design our benefits with the same care and intention as our product.
