We’re looking for an experienced, licensed applicator to become our Responsible Certified Applicator and the founding member of our field team. You’ll initially serve as both the company’s RCA and primary pest-control technician. You’ll service our first customers, establish treatment standards, improve operating procedures, and shape how Bugged delivers service from day one. As we add customers and technicians, this position is intended to grow into field leadership, technician training, quality control, and operations management. We want someone who can help build—and eventually lead—the team. What You’ll Do • Serve as Bugged’s designated Responsible Certified Applicator after completion of the required licensing process., • Work as the company’s primary technician during its initial growth stage., • Inspect residential properties, identify pest activity, recommend appropriate solutions, and perform recurring and one-time treatments within authorized service categories., • Help select products, equipment, treatment methods, and application protocols., • Develop and improve service procedures, treatment standards, vehicle-stock requirements, and quality-control processes., • Oversee safe pesticide handling, storage, transportation, application, and disposal., • Complete accurate service records, pesticide-use documentation, customer notes, photographs, and follow-up tasks., • Maintain the assigned vehicle, equipment, products, inventory, PPE, and field supplies., • Deliver a professional, premium customer experience at every property., • Identify appropriate opportunities for recurring service, upgrades, and approved add-on services., • Train and supervise apprentices and technicians as the field team grows, including required in-person instruction and training documentation., • Conduct ride-alongs, field coaching, service-record reviews, and quality inspections., • Support licensing, renewals, TDA inspections, and corrective actions., • Help recruit, onboard, and develop future technicians., • Progress toward managing the day-to-day field operation. You’ll work directly with the founder and have the authority to stop unsafe or noncompliant work. Compensation and Growth • $55,000–$80,000 annual base salary, based on licensing, experience, leadership background, and demonstrated capabilities., • Commission on qualifying new recurring customers and approved add-on sales., • Up to $25,000 in first-year cash milestone bonuses., • Overtime pay when applicable., • Opportunity to reach six-figure total compensation as individual sales, responsibilities, and the company grow., • Formal compensation and title reviews as the position expands into leadership. First-year milestone bonuses may be tied to accomplishments such as launch readiness, completion of operating procedures, recurring-customer growth, service-quality benchmarks, and successfully onboarding and training additional technicians. Six-figure compensation is possible but not guaranteed. Total earnings will depend on base salary, applicable overtime, qualifying commissions, milestone achievement, individual performance, and company growth. Equipment and Benefits • Brand-new Ford Maverick pickup assigned exclusively to you, with take-home privileges., • Company-paid fuel, maintenance, insurance, and approved vehicle expenses., • Company-provided iPhone., • Company-paid Meta smart glasses of your choice from an approved product lineup., • Company-provided uniforms, PPE, application equipment, and field supplies., • Paid time off., • Paid onboarding and training., • Paid product, equipment, software, safety, customer-service, sales, and leadership training., • Approved continuing-education and license-renewal support., • Referral program., • Scheduling flexibility when customer commitments and required supervision allow., • Meaningful influence over the company’s technical and operating decisions., • Advancement opportunities as customers and technicians are added.Required Qualifications, • Active Texas Structural Pest Control Certified Commercial Applicator license in the Pest Control category, in good standing., • Eligible and willing to serve as Bugged’s designated RCA., • Not serving as the RCA for another business-license location by the time of designation., • Hands-on residential pest-control experience., • Strong knowledge of pest identification, pesticide labels, application methods, PPE, service documentation, and customer communication., • Comfortable serving as the primary field technician during the company’s initial stage., • Able to train, coach, and supervise future technicians and apprentices., • Professional, punctual, dependable, and accountable., • Comfortable recommending and selling appropriate pest-control services., • Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record., • Comfortable using an iPhone, navigation applications, and field-service software., • Able to work throughout the Austin metropolitan area., • Able to perform the essential physical duties of residential pest-control work, with or without reasonable accommodation.Preferred Qualifications, • Three or more years of structural pest-control experience., • Previous RCA, lead-technician, trainer, service-manager, or supervisory experience., • Experience helping launch or improve a pest-control operation., • Experience creating treatment procedures or technician-training materials., • Strong record of customer retention and new-service sales., • Door-to-door sales or D2D team-leadership experience., • Active Texas Termite Control certification or termite-service experience. Bugged plans to add a door-to-door sales program early in the company’s growth, so D2D sales, recruiting, training, or leadership experience is a significant plus. Wildlife and termite experience are not required. Termite certification and experience are preferred because they may create additional opportunities as Bugged expands its services. Startup Environment This role is best for someone who wants to help build a company and take ownership of how it operates. During the initial stage, you may help with vehicle setup, equipment testing, inventory planning, treatment procedures, field technology, customer feedback, sales processes, and technician-training systems in addition to performing services. Priorities will sometimes change quickly. The successful candidate will be flexible, resourceful, comfortable making recommendations, and willing to solve problems beyond a narrowly defined technician job description. Bugged was founded by an entrepreneur with experience building and scaling multiple businesses.
