As part of our creative team, the Senior Art Director plays a central role in building bold ideas into powerful brand stories, developing concepts, shaping campaigns, and crafting creative that drives measurable impact.. This role is rooted inbrand development and integrated media campaigns, with opportunities to support enterprise-level web projects and expand your expertise into broader digital experiences. Youll collaborate closely with UX, Development, Strategy, Accounts, and Copy to deliver thoughtful, effective, and impactful creative that meets our clients goals and elevates their brands. And as part of an ACD-track role, youll grow your leadership skills, strategic thinking, and creative influence, preparing to guide teams, shape brand platforms, and define campaign direction at the next level. WORK LOCATION idfive is located in Baltimore, MD. We love Charm City, and it loves us back. Many of our team members live in the city and surrounding areas, but Fivers can be found nationwide. While we love to get together and meet for agency-wide events with both our out-of-state and local Fivers, where you work is up to you, so long as its during our 95 EST operating hours. If youre within driving distance of the office, you may be asked to work from the office as needed for creative brainstorms or in-person client meetings. BEFORE YOU GET HERE, YOU SHOULD... • Live in the continental USA and be legally able to work in the USA., • Bring 3+ years of experience as an Art Director or in a higher-level creative role, with a cumulative 8+ years of design experienceideally gained in an agency environment., • Be passionate about design, storytelling, and crafting campaigns that connect with audiences., • Be motivated to help mission-based clients do good in the world., • Thrive in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary atmosphere., • Demonstrate masteryof design principles, typography, and brand systems., • Have a keen eye for design with a proven mastery of fundamental design principles and typographic skills., • Be proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, and Figma., • Understand how digital experiences come to life, from hover states and micro-animations to development considerations (no coding required)., • Have a strong understanding of hover states, micro animations, and how HTML will bring our ideas to lifeno coding is required, but youll work closely with our developers., • Have proven digital chops, including experience creating campaign assets, social media creative, and high-fidelity prototypes., • Be confident presenting work, explaining creative rationale, and guiding client and internal teams., • Have strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Be able to time-manage and successfully work on multiple clients and projects in parallel., • Have strong attention to detail and communication skills. ON THE FIRST PROJECT, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO... • Concept and design a digital media campaign, brand platform, or logo/identity system that translates strategic direction into compelling, audience-driven creative., • Develop visual approaches and key assets for a brand or campaign across channels, including digital, social, and print., • Partner closely with the Creative Director, copywriter, and designer to build on the strategic and conceptual foundation, contributing fresh ideas and strong execution., • Interpret and build on a creative brief to deliver work that aligns with client objectives and elevates their brand story., • Present your ideas and creative rationale clearly and persuasively to internal teams and clients. AFTER SIX MONTHS, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO... • Own multi-channel campaigns and brand initiatives from concept through final production, including asset creation, versioning, delivery, and quality control., • Drive creative direction with autonomy, shaping visual storytelling, messaging, and campaign systems while ensuring alignment with the broader creative vision and brand strategy., • Collaborate across disciplines to deliver cohesive, high-impact creative solutions that meet client goals and push the work forward., • Check in with the Creative Director at key milestones to ensure strategic alignment and creative consistency, but confidently lead projects day-to-day., • Present and defend creative work directly to clients, articulating rationale and guiding conversations at a senior level., • Mentor and support junior and mid-level team members, contributing to the growth and evolution of the creative team., • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, balancing priorities without sacrificing craft or quality., • Champion new ideas, tools, and approaches (including emerging technologies like AI) to continuously elevate the work.
