Details • 16-bed CVICU located in the Tower building of a hospital in Nashville, TN, • Specializes in post-operative cardiac surgery care, including advanced cardiac devices such as ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADs, • Patient ratio is 1:2, with 1:1 staffing for certain device-dependent patients, • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, • 13-week contract, • Requires 2 weekends per month, • Holiday coverage required: 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day) and 2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, or New Year's Day), • Floating required as needed, typically to other ICUs but may include other floors, • Equipment includes Philips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps, • Meditech is the documentation system used on this unitRequirements, • Active RN license — TN state license or a Compact RN license required, • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start), • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required, • Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience, with CVICU experience required, • Proficiency with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required, • Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT strongly preferred, • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration, • One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri), • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 monthsAdditional Information, • Provide care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those on advanced devices such as ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADs, • Performs procedures including central line insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, and intubation, • A free-floating charge nurse is available to assist staff; unit secretaries and Administrative Care Techs are on-site Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, • Student Nurse Externs on variable shifts assist nurses with tech duties, • An intensivist is assigned to the unit 24/7, • Unit is staffed by a strong, experienced nursing team with a collaborative culture and high-volume advanced cardiac surgery program (5 full-time surgeons), • Unit has received the HCA Unit of Distinction Award and the Daisy Award, • Scrub color requirements: black, red, or galaxy blue; scrub jackets and vests only, • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position American Traveler Job ID #P-712385.
