Part-Time (up to 25 hours/week) | Flexible Schedule | Mission-Focused Work | Meaningful Impact JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Donor Development Coordinator Position Category: Hourly, Non- Exempt (Part time) Supervisor: President and CEO Program/Department: Fundraising Approved Date: September 2026 Position Summary: The Donor Development Coordinator serves as an integral member of the Fundraising Team, responsible for donor development, donor engagement, fundraising strategy, and stewardship efforts that support the mission of Lutheran Social Services of Indiana. This position works closely with the CEO and Director of Marketing & Communications to strengthen relationships with current donors, cultivate prospective donors, increase donor retention, and expand philanthropic support. The Donor Development Coordinator develops meaningful donor relationships, manages fundraising initiatives, monitors donor engagement and performance metrics, and supports a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization. This position must be committed to the values and ethics of the Christian faith and support LSSI's mission of expressing the love of Jesus Christ through services that empower individuals and families toward social, emotional, and spiritual wholeness. Donor Relationship Management - 50% • Manage a portfolio of key and major donors through active cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and relationship management., • Develop individualized donor engagement plans designed to cultivate donor loyalty and align communication with donor interests, preferences, and giving motivations to achieve meaningful communication and strengthen engagement., • Provide a high level of customer service and responsiveness to donors, sponsors, volunteers, and stakeholders., • Assist leadership, volunteers, and fundraising team members in planning and coordinating stewardship and engagement activities for donor portfolios., • Identify prospective donors and opportunities for major gift cultivation. Fundraising Strategy & Development - 25% • Develop and implement strategies that support growth in individual giving and overall fundraising results., • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications and CEO to develop annual fundraising goals and strategies that align with organizational priorities, and then develop donor-focused messaging, campaigns, and engagement strategies to support goals and priorities., • Collaborate with the fundraising team to define, implement, and manage donor giving levels, recognition programs, and planned-giving opportunities., • Support leadership, Board, and staff in fostering a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization., • Identify opportunities to expand existing donor relationships and cultivate new donor prospects., • Participate in donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events. Data, Reporting & Process Management - 15 % • Maintain accurate donor records, gift documentation, and donor activity within donor database and CRM systems., • Analyze donor activity, fundraising trends, engagement patterns, and campaign effectiveness to identify opportunities for donor retention, increased giving, and donor acquisition., • Provide reports and regular updates regarding fundraising performance, donor activity, and progress toward organizational fundraising goals, and recommend adjustments to strategy as needed., • Assist in maintaining fundraising processes, donor stewardship procedures, donor tracking workflows, and database integrity, to uphold integrity in fundraising as well as effective donor management., • Meet individual performance expectations and fundraising objectives established by leadership. Agency Support & Community Engagement - 10% • Assist with editing, proofreading, and reviewing donor communications and marketing materials., • Support organizational events, donor recognition activities, and sponsorship initiatives., • Connect donors, sponsors, and volunteers with engagement opportunities throughout the organization., • Represent LSSI professionally with community stakeholders and supporters., • Perform other related duties as assigned. Education, Experience and Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, or related field preferred., • Three to five years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, relationship management, business development, or a related field preferred. Experience as a Donor Relationship Manager is strongly preferred., • Experience with donor databases or CRM platforms required; experience with Raiser's Edge, DonorPerfect, or comparable systems preferred., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required., • Knowledge of Lutheran church structures preferred., • Leadership experience preferred., • Valid Indiana driver's license, insurance and car required., • Minimum Auto Insurance Coverage Levels:, • Bodily Injury Liability, • $100,000 for any one person in any one accident, • $300,000 for all persons in any one accident, • Property Damage Liability, • $100,000 for any one accident, • Ability to travel for donor visits, meetings, church presentations, fundraising activities, and community engagement events. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and the mission of Lutheran Social Services of Indiana, with the ability to effectively communicate theorganization's mission, vision, and impact to donors, churches, volunteers, and community stakeholders., • Understanding of and respect for Lutheran theology, traditions, and values., • Knowledge of donor development and fundraising principles, including relationship-based fundraising, donor stewardship, donor engagement, and major gift cultivation., • Ability to develop, cultivate, and maintain meaningful relationships with donors, churches, community partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders while fostering long-term engagement and philanthropic support., • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging and engagement strategies to diverse audiences and donor interests., • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, analyze donor and fundraising data, and achieve established goals., • Proficiency with donor databases, CRM platforms, fundraising reporting tools, Microsoft Office applications, and other technology used to support donor engagement and fundraising operations., • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive donor and organizational information with professionalism and discretion.
